No game is a sure win. I BELIEVE! GO HABS! but for the first time in years, we go into every game knowing we'll probably win, at least i do, that's the difference between now and the past 14 years. We have this cocky confidence. And if yesterday was any indication of our play, i like our chances of winning the majority of our remaining games. Guest Habsgirl3823
Sometimes cockiness can turn into being too comfortable out there. I dunno, I just don't want to see them being over confident. Hopefully they'll come out playing like they've played the last 3 games. GO HABS. Carbo won't let the players be overconfident, we don't have to wry about that. After all we haven't accomplishged anything yet. We aren't even guarenteed a playoff spot. A lotta work left to be done. 16 games left...... can yuou beleive tsn , they are now talking about the makebelives making the playoffs when the ywere never out of the race. now their going to make this big story about how they can make it and all that crap. will they make it. .. one part of me wants to see a a series between us and them, but that team just stinks too much so we can throw that out the window
Guest keithman
^yea forget the leafs. TSN and CBC need to talk about new things. No wonder CBC has a ratings drop. Habs should be able to pull this one off...but not easily, in fact it'll be touch. But it's going to be a good game. Nabokov vs. Price is wicked. Will be tight. Guest overlords
Their team leader in goals can't possibly only have 20 goals, i gotta go check that out. edit: oh man, it's true. their scoring is more evened out than ours is. I hope the d and lapierre are in for some tight defensive hockey.

Guest Ricochet
Don't be too surprised if Boucher gets the start in goal for San Jose. He's coming off a 2-0 shutout. Has Nabokov been announced for this game already? San Jose will be looking for the quick jump on offense and they could bring some aggressive checking early to try and intimidate our players. They know this is our first trip west in a while and our guys might not be too sure of themselves the first game. I feel more comfortable having Begin in the lineup against western teams, hope he is able to get into the lineup at some point during this road trip. St. Louis really pounded on the Sharks last game, so they could be mean. We're going to get our chances and we're going to have to make good on a number of opportunities. San Jose is going to be a tough team to keep out of our defensive end and Price will need the support of our D under sustained pressure. Everyone except O'Byrne should be focused on getting the puck out of the zone, (O'Byrne tends to ice the puck) and while Thornton is a threat to shoot, but we need to focus more on taking away his passes, best not to let him have the puck at all. Rebounds are trouble, the Sharks will be circling the net. I doubt we will hold down their offense very well, so unless Price makes a steal, prepare for a higher scoring game. Five each way isn't out of the question, more likely 3 or 4. Either way, it should be an intense game and a good one to watch. I don't doubt our defense, but this is going to be a character test for our team. They can't get lazy or have their heads in the clouds and they can't be timid or looking down the road. Gaining the conference lead is a feat, holding onto the lead can be a chore. Relax and keep your heads in the game boys. Kovalev is due for a goal or two, if his foot is feeling fine, he'll be pulling some fancy moves to get his chances. An assist is a point, but Kovalev loves putting the puck in the net himself and he'll be hungry. Lapierre is going to be pumped after a standing ovation from the home crowd and all the talk of his efforts in the final minutes of the Devils game. Look for him to go hard for the puck every shift, he'll want to do something special to keep the fans at home happy. Looking for the same effort as the last few games. Gorges might put in an extra or even heroic effort against his former team and we would all love to see that. You have at least one fan out their Gorges, make Gainey look good! I'm looking for the win (of course!) but unless Boucher starts and his last game was the exception and we chase him early, this should be a hard fought close game. I say "should" because we don't know how we will react to being on the top and our guys could surprise us with a blowout if they are as pumped as the fans are. You could put any five hardcore habs fans on the ice right now and the Sharks wouldn't have a chance. We'd eat them alive. Everyone that is going to the game, hook up with the big group of 82 and make this a home game. If I see you on camera I will stand up and applaud you on the spot. Make some noise!
