hehehe ricochet, aces hmm? i thought you liked the habs ;)

lol, umm ... I did that intentionally, what I mean is we are going to dethrone the Kings, knock 'em down and sit on them.

Yeah, that's it. I did not just make up that excuse on the spot two seconds ago.

Can't say I am happy about Dandan only getting a one game opportunity, I still like him, it's just tough luck at the end of a bad year for him. With Smolinski showing a little bit of effort and doing well with faceoffs, I guess there isn't a lot of choice on who sits. If Smolinski is benched now you lose the progress he made over the last few games.

Smolinski, if you hustle and get involved as much as possible with the plays, I promise I will start cheering for you again. You don't need points, just no mistakes and a show of faith that you want to be here and work hard for this team. Please?

The only other thing I can reasonably hope for is that Lapierre is moved back up to the third line before Ryder starts taking flack for not producing again. His ice time already seems to be dropping. I have noticed Lats putting in more work, but I still think having any two of Ryder - Higgins - Lats on the same line is a mistake at this point. I really hope Lapierre is able to stay motivated and energetic in a 4th line role otherwise.

Happy to get the opportunity to see Tom play again. Unless LA is going to bring the game down to that level though, I'd prefer there wasn't a lot of aggressive contact this game. LA doesn't need to try to hurt our players and we don't need to risk hurting theirs. More importantly though, we don't need to risk losing somebody. I want to see really clean games against opponents that don't matter. Hitting, for sure, but no unnecessary roughness. It's fine if he's hungry, just don't go biting people's heads off.

Begin has been out of the lineup forever now, what's up? Is he still hurt?

I think Halak is going to be strong and we are going to come hard out of the gate. Looking for a big jump ahead in the first to make it easier on him. If LA gives us anywhere near as many shots as they gave Ottawa, this game will be a blowout in our favor. Hoping for Kovalev's 30th tonight. He deserves that milestone this season.

No. Only on RDS.

Yet another game I cannot watch. Dang.

On CBC tommorow: ALWAYS the Laffs game, even though the Habs game starts so much earlier [ boring hockey! Devils + Leafs = ZZZZ x 91515214515641]

Need to get RDS badly. *sigh* :(

I hates you CBC, you play the worst games then suddenly Don Cherry pops up and starts talking about the Laffs and nothing else, then we're stuck at home wondering "Why are his suits so ugly" and "will he ever shut up?"

Sorry, I just hate CBC and Don Cherry and his Laffs who take over the television!

Anyways,

Hope for a good game. We need these two points for our top spot ;)

Habs win. 5-2.

HAH! and the Habs steal the King's crown. Love it. Great opener on the thread Richochet.

RICOCHET:

GREAT start to this game thread.

Well written and well done. Great job!

Thank you. Appreciate the comments. :)

I love Don Cherry, not so much the CBC. Cherry is very opinionated and he has his own ideas about things that you don't have to agree with. His choice of team does leave something to be desired however. Some of his opinions and comments are ignorant, but I admire that he says what is on his mind and lets you judge him for what he is and doesn't try to cater to people and leave them wondering where he stands.

You might not always agree with him, but he does raise some interesting topics and calls attention to some important matters. It isn't limited to hockey either, he has a generous spirit and he really believes in the things that he talks about. I can accept a few character flaws for the sake of passion, integrity and conviction.

It doesn't bother me that people hate him because he gives good reasons to do so, but you at least have to admit that he's entertaining. Especially when him and Ron disagree on something and argue on air. Hilarious! Coach's Corner is probably the best intermission program out there, leagues above the Satellite Hotstove and Behind the Mask for sure. I don't like the other shows' format where they have people just talking to kill time it seems. When I watch those programs, it's easy for me to tell it is their job. When I watch Cherry I know it isn't just a job to him. He doesn't even attempt to be professional really, he comes on, speaks his peace, complains that he doesn't have more time and cuts off seconds before the image of his suit is permanently burned into our retinas.

The suits are just another part of the show to me, sometimes good enough for a laugh.

The game might be on a little too early for me, afraid I might miss it. Really hoping I don't!

is this game national on CBC?

I was in hopes that it would be national on CBC, but I should have known it would be anyone but the Habs. Someone posted awhile ago that CBC should be renamed to TBC and I tend to agree. So few habs games is getting old - fast. Oh and the Habs game isn't being streamed at TBC-HNIC either. So, I guess I'm not going to catch this game.

Ricochet -- Great start to this thread. A good read and very well done!

I see Kyle Chipchura is doing really good. I think he could help the habs in a "big" way. (Size with scoring touch.)

Oh and Komi does look like he is playing injured.

I bet if someone starts a CBC rant post that by July 1st there would be 700,000 posts and maybe someone at CBC would take notice. I want to see more Habs on CBC Less Leafs and more canadian teams on CBC and TSN. I couldnt beleive that a few weeks ago the Habs and sens were battling for 1st place and they had some 14th & 12 place teams on the tube. I thought these Mofo's cared only about ratings? who is watching these games and if the habs /sens game was on , would you have watched the other game? I think not. I hope the hell that the Leafs dont make the playoffs because I realy want to watch the habs playoff run. GO HABS GO!

It's about time Halak got some work. The Canadiens will need a solid effort today. I hate playing these bottom feeder teams like the LA Kings. They're not playing for anything significant in the standings so they can go out there with no pressure and be all loose. And guys are playing for jobs next year since nobody wants to be bought out or sent to the minors. At least they did us a favour the other night though by shutting out Ottawa :)

And yes, RDS only today since CBC is showing skiing and snowboarding at 4pm ET. But CBC has supposedly added the Islanders game to their telecast schedule next Saturday evening for Quebec.

Can we get RDS streaming via Net? I'm guessing that is French language broadcast?

What watching rds and trying to get radio broadcast from elsewhere and watch / listen. Wouldn't be perfectly matched up, but better then then Laffs ;)

I agree, the bottom-feeders will be at their best. Habs better be at their best! I hope Halak has a great game.

Oh and I agree about posts generating concern over so many Laffs games. Where do we start? :)

CBC added the Habs game on the 15th, against the Islanders I think.

Things are getting better. they make a nice lil run in da playoffs and maybe we'll at least get sone more regional broadcasts net season.
