Guest martinm87
Why is there not already a thread for this? I think this is going to be great for people who can't afford to go to many games at the bell centre, but like the bell centre it will probably be impossible to get a ticket soon... Guest thefooligan5
I read that the team unveiled their name and jerseys today but I cannot find a picture anywhere. Does anyone have any more info and perhaps an image of their new uniforms?

"Montreal businessman Farrel Miller said the team wanted a classic look to its uniform and a clear team colour. In fact, it looks a lot like the jersey of the defunct Montreal Maroons - minus the big M in front. The Maroons were an NHL club and two-time Stanley Cup champion that folded in 1938 during the Great Depression." http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?articleid=35647...mp;service=page

Guest Felquiste
cmon now it cant be that bad... my parents are from there. It was a beautiful place back in the 60s 70s. But now it's rather insecure, with a high crime rate and lot of poverty. Verdun is not just far from Laval, it's also far from... Montreal, it's really a pain to get there...and once you get there the first thing you wanna do is leave... It take 45 to 1h to get there from Laval. it's REALLY not far away. Guest Greek Hab
cmon now it cant be that bad... Verdun is probably the most least likely place you would want to live in Montreal. It's pretty much...(in the most kindest of way) a garbage hole.

Everytime there's a Junior team in Montreal, it plays to the crappiest area where people can't even afford canned tuna... The only way major junior is gone work in the Montreal region is to build an arena in either, the Shouth shore, Laval or the West Island.

It's pretty much...(in the most kindest of way) a garbage hole. But...... They do have the original Lafleurs there. And lets be honest, if you have that claim to fame then for sure Verdun is the place to be. I live in Toronto now, but before I left Little Burgundy was getting nicer and so was LaSalle - I think ti is only a matter of time where Verdun will get better. With the proximity to Montreal and the urban-suburban feel, if that town was here in Toronto every house and town home would have been rebuilt and they'd be going for $1.1MM now... Guest futon
To bad fans in St. John's, Newfoundland, couldn't get behind this team. I found it more enjoyable than the AHL product, but this so called " hockey town " didn't support it that well, although for average attendance we were about the middle of the pack. A lousy lease aggreement and having to pay airfae for every team that came it, plus a poor relationship with city council, who run the stadium and were outbid by the Fog Devils owners, killed this team. PLus I do think the owners paniced and sold a bit to early, the Fog Devils were only here 2 1/2 half seasons. I predict major junior will be back in St. John's as the our previous mayor, who hated hockey, is gone, and we have a 6 year old awesome stadium with nothing but the odd concert and public skating to pay the bills. Wedid have anice jersey than the Montreal junior team's, imo, but I do see what they are trying for. God luck to them, some good players on that team, some may carry over from this season.
