If Mods think it is too early for this topic please lock until Habs clinch. ;)

Who's in?.

We shave for the last time before game 1 of the playoffs.

I personally don't like going 2 days without shaving  , but a fan's gotta do what a fan's gotta do!

SCRUFFY Hab fans everywhere UNITE. :P

NOOOOO!!!

I have done the playoff beard in each of the last 5 times the Habs made the playoff and it hasn't done me any good at all. 1 year I did the playoff gotee and still nothing.

Then as I was getting ready for the playoff beard agian this year my Fiance pointed out something that made me think..

She said.. When was the last time the Habs one the Cup? 93 I replied.. and then she said.. did you have a playoff beard then? I responded: of corse not I was 13..

then she asked: when did they win the Cup before then? 86 I said.

she said: then ofcorse a 6 year old would not have had a playoff beard there either.

then she said and I look at videos of the 86 and 93 Cup and I don't see a whole lot of beards on the Habs players either.. Roy had a gotee in 93 but nothing in 86. the others where clean shaven aswell..

so then it dawned on me.. The playoff beard tradition has nevear done the Habs any good. we won our Cups before the beard thing.

And now every team does this tradition. well there is 1 Cup and 16 teams.. so for the 1 team that wins there are 15 losers with playoff beards..

So I say we all boycott the playoff beard.. we all shave before every game.. If 15 teams have beards and 1 doesn't and 15 teams must lose and 1 doesn't then.. Giddy up the math works for us.

No playoff beard = Stanley Cup!

I was just thinking about the ladies myself.... hey but you're in BC eat granola for a while and hug some trees you would fit right in lol...

some of us,despite our advanced age, are patchy .. i have a nice scar under my chin where no hair grows.. I opt for a closely cropt goatee over the grizzly adams look ..

wear a turtleneck and you'll be fine. ;) My wife is not thrilled about this idea. I never really grew a proper beard I guess (like I said 2 days and I go nuts/itchy).

I never knew you were a female. You see this thread helps for other things too.

I would join you, but I'm in the military so I can't grow a beard. The best I can do is not shave for 2-3 days on weekends. I will say this though, if the Habs go to the final, I will find a way.

Does that mean I have to shave and then restart? I am already growing a "finish in first" Beard!

Hmmm.....good question. The overall goal is to still finish first...first in the NHL at post season's end.

I don't seem to recall the habs having playoff beards in recent years. I recall the fu-manchu one year but I also recall many clean shaven faces the last time the habs were in the playoffs.

I'll be working in solidarity with the habs. Whatever they choose, I will comply.
