Honestly, Briebois has been playing well as of late. As long as he doesn't abandon his position and is too aggresive with the puck, I think he'll do well.

What we lose from O'Byrne's physical presence, we gain faster puck movement from Patrice.

yeah thats a good point

I wonder how the officiating will be tonight, 'cause after seeing last night's game I don't expect alot of Habs power play

Fraser!? <_<

Aw man. He does have a wikkid hairdo though.

We'll be alright. We just have to work for it. Nothing's going to come easy for our Montreal Canadiens, but if they work hard, we will win this series easily.

Why who when where Did gorges get injured?

Where did you get that?

What I see tonight is we have to be VERY prepared for an aggressive Boston team. They want to prove everyone 'wrong' that this is a guaranteed Habs win.

GO HABS GO!

not to mention this'll be the first time that they'll have a complete team since back in October.

Expect Bergeron to come out strong, and Savard as well. (remember he got injured by a hit from Begin)

wow, good one Habs_fan1160 ... I suppose this works both ways ! He's just so thankful I'm not a Leaf fan ...
all together now "da da da da da, da da da da da ...."
Lol, true true.Even though the Bruins are bitter "rivals" with the Habs, I've never had a problem with the Bruin's fans, however, Leafs fans - whole other story lol. At least the Bruins fans have class, something Leafs fans still haven't found. :)It'll be a good series for sure. Definately looking forward to it. Espicially that Price/Thomas don't have any playoff expierence, should make for some interesting goaltending.

See I'm leaning more towards the cobweb thing. Bergeron hasn't played forever, he'll probably have to dust off some cobwebs, hopefully that takes him four games and four Habs wins to do. :)

Why the heck is O'Byrne out? This is crazy!

Who knows but apparently they don't care about the article in Yesterdays Gazette saying that O'byrne is the guy to keep Chara under control!

I'd have prefered O'Byrne's physical presence over Brisebois "experience" but we'll see how that goes, maybe he didn't want to see a nervous O'Byrne and might play him in Boston, the good news is to see Komisarek back in the lineup, altought you just know that Boston will have him in their target.

GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!

I think the Bruins should be more worried about who Komi draws a bullseye on. :D:D:D

I think their about the same (pros and cons wise).

O'Bryne may get nervous, cough up the puck, but he lacks playoff experience.

Breezer, has tons of expierence and still coughs up the puck...

Well I guess maybe O'Bryne has the upper hand. :)

In terms of personal contribution to the play, I think OB has a little edge, in terms of helping out to keep the young wolves pack focused, breezer's experience is a huge + , for the first game anyway

Just read a comment by Kovy that's got me pumped. Sure sounds like he's itching to go.

Bring it on, Kovy says: There have been suggestions that the Bruins will try to take the Canadiens out of their rhythm by playing a physical game, but that doesn't concern Alex Kovalev.

"I've played 100 NHL playoff games, do you think it was easy before?" Kovalev asked. "I'm just focused on my game. If they get physical with me and I can score a few goals, that's fine with me. I don't have to chase people around and finish my checks. There's other things I can do to help this team."

O'Byrne will be in later. Carbo (I expect ) is going to lean towards experience for this first "zoo" of a game. That likely also means on forward (e.g., could see Dandy, and not Grabs).

I can see where Carbo is coming from (SJS last night, any one?). Can't really argue with him, even though I love all these young guys.

Kovi is definitely up for this:

Kovalev thought he experienced the pinnacle of passionate fandom with the 1993-94 New York Rangers when they won the Stanley Cup to end a 52-year title drought. But then he was subjected to Montreal. The experience has been so moving this season that he persuaded his 68-year-old father, Viacheslav, to visit Canada for the first time.

"In the beginning, he didn't want to come," said Kovalev, whose father arrived a week ago. "He blamed old age and didn't want to travel the distance. This conversation started five months ago. I was hoping he would come in the regular season and eventually he did come in. I was so happy that he did.

"This is something different than he saw in Pittsburgh [where Kovalev also played] and in New York. It was something he should see. I was happy he could see the final two games of the regular season and the crowds here."

Now Kovalev's father will stay until the end. "He more excited than I am," said the son, who went on to relay a story about how his father has been drawing diagrams of plays during downtimes at home and saying, "Why don't you try this?"

(Look out for Kovi's Dad's new move tonight that he taught him!! :D

I think it's a good idea to go with experience over youth for the 1st game ... lets minimize the risks of being over excited, specially on D :)

Habs Loving Dag: great post! just one little thing though, I'd rather have Price play in front of the net than behind it ;) and I particularly like your last line !

What I meant by behind the net was his stick handling abilities and the passes he can make after intercepting a "dump" by the Bruins (sry if you were being sarcastic...hard to tell with written text :P)

And having experience over youth in the first game, thus less nerves on the blue line will further help our transition play absorb the fore-check the Bruins will try and force.

Once we force the Bruins to give up on the dump, chase, fore-check strategy after one-two games, I would rather have the Big "O" back in the line-up.

More like what soccer sees in Europe! ;) All hail Kovi's Dad!! (Honk if you see him!!)

Despite our stellar 8-0 record vs Boston this year, don't expect this game or this series to be easy. The Bruins have some injured guys coming back into the lineup ... and they'll be looking to erase the memory of the Habs owning them this season.

That said, the Habs are younger, faster, and more talented. Let's hope they light up Tim Thomas like Gordie Howe's birthday cake!

That'd definitely be the record forever for most goals in a game!
