I play center. Played today just before the game. Lots of Hab fans on the team. Even the ref is a Habs fan!

Although it doesn't get us any slack on the calls :)

I love hockey. I learned how to play hockey in the ditches of Lorette, Mb (Garnet Exelby is the only famous player from Lorette: he played for our high school hockey team). We had back yard rinks as kids, which caused my dad much consternation. Because we lived closed to the school all the kids who liked hockey would come over and play hockey at lunch! I even lost my first two teeth playing goalie for my brother and his friends.

I never played organized hockey, just for fun (boys, girls, all ages included). This winter I had the benidiction of working as a caretaker at a community centre, and I often put on the pads just so the kids had something better (only slightly) than an empty net to shoot on. My favorite hockey games are when the ages range from 8 or 9 to 50 and there are too many players on the rink. I'm no great skater, but I can teach the kids how to pass like Brisebois, and shoot like Kovalev (if you can't afford a new stick, learn the wristshot I say), and backhand like Saku. Mostly I just see hockey as a positive experience, something better to do than drinking, drugs, and video games.

Amen, amen, ... if you can add some moonlight and playing in the dark, (finding the puck by digging in the holes in the snow) then you will have mentioned some of my favorite childhood memories.

i play just for fun, for pure recreation...

when i have the time, i play twice a week, when i don't i play less...

for most of you, i would be a laughing stock on the ice, but i don't mind... hockey is too much fun to be worrying how bad you might look on the ice...

i started about a year and a half ago, at the age of 23 (i know, it's some 20 years too late :D)

in belgrade (population 1.7million) there are 2 (that's right, TWO) ice halls, and one of them was built year and a half ago...

there are a couple of outdoor rinks, but they are small and are open only from december till beginning of march...

I played hockey for many , many years. Now I don't get the chance to play much however, I have been coaching minor hockey for 6 years now. My son is just going into Bantam and has inherited my passion for the game. However, living in Lawrencetown N.S, 5 minutes from Cole Harbour, my son is a huge Crosby fan, as almost every kid here is. Maybe someday Crosby will end-up in the bleu-blanc et rouge, and my son can have the pleasure of being a Habs fan!

I had my team over to my place this winter to play a game on the lake against the coaches/parents. There were 4 or 5 guys that had never played outside on a lake before. I'm glad I was able to provide them with an experience that I so fondly remember as a kid myself.
