Guest chromedome
Whatever type of games they turn out to be,I'm confident the Habs will prevail once again. There is no reason they shouldn't dominate and get it done sooner rather than later this time ,but as the Booins showed, you never know what can happen! So,let's get at them quick and often in that first period to put the "fear of God"into them right off the bat. Then, once we've got them scared,CRUSH THEM!!!! Now,I have to add that I hope that this time the looney bin is locked during and after each series win so that ,as Canadians,we don't have to hang our heads in shame for such brainless stupidity as was displayed in Montreal last time!I'd like to believe that the appalling behaviour was by non-fans more so than true fans of the sport! Let's regain some dignity here folks!!
Guest netcase
I think we'll see a little more action from our boys due to the fact that it will be more open ice hockey. Boston should have been called for a "delay of series" penalty (*snore*)
Guest vegasrick
I think we'll see a little more action from our boys due to the fact that it will be more open ice hockey. Boston should have been called for a "delay of series" penalty (*snore*) That's funny. Although, it was probably the Habs who were guilty of delaying the series. But, lessons learned, and there's no substitute for playoff experience. This series will really boil down to how consistently the Habs decide to play. They absolutely will not be able to get away with taking five games off between good showings like they tried against Boston. Not that it's an intentional thing, but just that's it too easy to take the soft way out and avoid the hit, which, of course, leads to bad passes, giveaways, and scoring chances against. And I think Carbo learned a valuable lesson last series as well.....or at least I hope he did. You have to make your adjustments quickly....can't wait until game seven -- because there might not be a game seven! I was glad Carbo put Kovalev and Koivu together in that last game. That was quite a good line, and it could be for the rest of the postseason. Sure wish Pleks would get hot soon.....that would increase our offensive output greatly. And if only Higgins could bury more of his chances, many of our close games would not be close at all. I have a feeling he will work on that in the offseason and could have a real breakout year next year. Kovalev only fell asleep for a short while last series, but man, did it cost us. I hope he got the message that you can't take even one shift off. I expect Price to be even better in this series, not only because he gained some very valuable playoff experience against the Boo-ins, but also because our 'D' is going to be much better in front of him against the Flyers. Komisarek and Harmrlik will be solid. There's no way Markov can play much worse than he did against Boston.....ugh. There's speculation that he's injured.....but even an inujred Markov shouldn't have been as weak as he was the past seven games. Gorges is getting better.....when you don't hear his name too much, the opposition isn't getting past him much. Breezer was, well, Breezer....hot and cold. He scored a great goal to win us a game, but I still saw some unbelievably bad plays, and this from a guy who won a Cup with us in '93? Didn't all those years teach him at least a few things? I'd rather see him make no play, than one of his stellar bad plays. And we need to keep Streit playing forward, please. We have the youngest team in the playoffs, and I think we are the most dangerous team when we play like we can. Pittsburgh will give this year a run for it....but they have a tough test against the New York Strangers. But we have the brothers Kosti....our secret weapon. So, I'm hoping they really learned their lesson from last series, get this one over with in five games, and get the much-needed rest for the conference finals. Guest CristoWallHuet39
This is going to be a high-shooting (lots of shots for both teams) series so it's going to be up to the goalies to try to keep the goals allowed down for their team. I think we are going to finally be able to use our powerplay to its full potential this series; so the more penalties the Flyers get, the more scoring opportunities we will have. If Biron is not standing on his head, we will be scoring lots of goals so it's going to be up to Carey Price to keep the Flyers off the scoreboard as much as possible if we want to win this series. Guest King-Carey-31
My Prediction....Habs in 5 or 7 but not 4 or 6.....why....we won't win a series on the road. Sergei Kostitsyn leads the habs in points so far and will continue to do so amassing 5 points in 5 games and 6 points in 7 games. Price leads the habs to a series victory with another shutout and 4 more wins with a GAA of 2.31 and a Sv% of .
Guest ryan.go.habs
Bruins Fan 4... thanks for stickin around, unlike most other fans you stick around here and bring something to the conversation. Im glad you are cheering for the Habs and hold no ill will against us for eliminating your team. Great sportsmanship compared to people like BIGGSX. Anyways, this should be a close series with the Habs winning 4-2. They are a very physical (not dirty) team so I hope they dont take out any of our players. I say the Rangers eliminate the Pens in 6. If we use our speed and PP effectively this series is ours. If we dont use those 2 things its gonna be very hard to beat them. And also we need to shut down Briere. Guest 2VP
The Canadiens have learned allot in the first series. Biron is not a great goalie, Philly's defence is terrible, and they don't have Chara on their team. We will win this series. It may take 5, maybe 7, but we will win. Go Canadiens Go
Guest Bourne
Have to agree with Ryan and tip my hat to you, Bruins Fan 4. Always nice to see sportsmanship amongst fans, especially given how intense the rivalry between Montreal and Boston is. Nevertheless, if we can play consistent hockey then we have a paved road ahead of us. The Flyers are nothing to laugh at, however we have dominated them all season. However this is a similar story in regards to Boston. It will all be determined by how the Habs play; lets win this in four boys and do what we should have done to Boston! Guest CanadianMike
I hope the Habs can finish this series pretty quick. Don't feel like watching this dirty team filled with dirty players for too long. HARTNELL SUCKS!!!! Habs have to start this series the same way they finished round 1. GO HABS GO!! Guest HabsFanStuckInToronto!
I am not saying this is going to be an easier series overall but I feel that Montreal will have an easier time offensively because there is absolutely no way on earth the Flyers can play the same defensive scheme that Boston did and be successful with it. I can see quite a few high scoring games coming out of this series and possibly one or two low scoring with both goalies standing on their heads. Should be a fantastic series! I can't wait to hear the reception Briere receives, let's just make sure we don't let him get us back! GO HABS GO! - Have to win that first game on home ice! Guest KOIVU#11
ok, so what???do you think we really care???bye bye ! i hope both sox and celtics loose ! hahaha hilarious, anyways in regard to the game, it seems like everytime I doubt the habs they come back and prove me wrong which is great, I love being wrong when it benefits me . So hopefully me thinking that the habs will win this series won't jynx them. I think we learned a lot from Boston, if we want to win, we have to have consistent offense and play the type of hockey that got us here to begin with. The powerplay has to be better, Philly has a awesome pp, and have guys like Danny Briere (who will hopefully be booed) who are hard to contain on the pp and will most certainly go high on Carey, so our special teams have to pick it up becuase if we continue at this pace we'll get blown away. Finally the intesnsity and want to win that we showed against Boston in Game seven has to permeate this entire series or else we wont be able to manage Phily like we did Boston. Anyways with all this said I think we're going to have a long series, first four games end in a spilt, and habs win the next two, so my prediction is habs in six. Dutch
I dont underestimate any team in the play offs, and with Philly, I think they will try to play us physicaly, just like the Bruins tried. Play them the same way we played Boston in game 7, and I think we will be allright, but ofcourse its the play offs, you never know what will happen. Lets do it boyz! Just be the best you can be. GO HABS GO!!!

Guest Oatmeal777
I'm going to be bold and honest and say Montreal will annihilate Philly in 5 games, I saw them play the Capitals last night and in other games and IMO they depend more on their powerplay now than Montreal ever did. Montreal can outskate/outhit/outplay Philadelphia easily. The only thing Philadelphia can do is try to out grease the Montreal Canadiens by gooning them and geting grease goals. Plus, Price>>>>>>>Biron by ten miles.
Guest privateserver
if I may be so bold as to give my prediction now ... Habs in 5, this series won't be pretty, that's for sure Watch out for Downie #27 ... he's dirty !! GO HABS GO I think it will game 6 or 7 for habs. Its going to an easy machtup if we play hard and get past there D, it will be very hard if we cant get the puck in there zone.
Guest Cambeauce
even my teacher(oiler fan) said habs will win the cup! go habs go!!!!!! If they go to the big finals... and win the cup... well I predict a big chaos in the province haha! We are in the second round and on my way to go to school in Québec city this morning, I saw 20-30 cars with montreal flags, plus the two on my own car . And there was a lot of noises in the roads monday night, so I dont want to imagine how it is in Montreal!

Guest Innis_Mor
So exactly like the Boston series?Nah, not unless Biron absolutely stands on his head, because the Flyers defense is porous and slow. Habs will average 4+ goals a game, you'll all see.
