Well having played a game 7 just last night, I think the Flyers could be tired. They certainly looked it at times last night, which worried me. I could be wrong, though, with the day off today. They are professional hockey players, so they really shouldn't have a concept of tired in the playoffs, it should be all adrenaline.

Anyway, I think some of you are overlooking aspects of the Flyers, especially Biron. Remember, Biron and Huet's stats this season are almost identical, with Huet having the slight advantage. It should also be remembered that the Flyers' defense has been injured and has changed a lot over the course of the year, and Biron has been left out to dry often. My heart says 4-3 Flyers but my brain says 5-2 Habs.

LET'S GO FLYERS!!!

I'm going to be bold and honest and say Montreal will annihilate Philly in 5 games, I saw them play the Capitals last night and in other games and IMO they depend more on their powerplay now than Montreal ever did. Montreal can outskate/outhit/outplay Philadelphia easily. The only thing Philadelphia can do is try to out grease the Montreal Canadiens by gooning them and geting grease goals.

Plus, Price>>>>>>>Biron by ten miles.

Overall your pretty right but Philly can out hit us. They play a very physical game. I really hope they don't injure any of our key players.

Habs top hitters (Komi, Bouillon, Hamrlik) were all way ahead of the top Flyers in the regular season. The forwards go for some hits, but their D are dead ssslllloooowwwww.

Defenseman Smith (the Captain!!) was benched in Game 7 vs. Washington -- too darned slow! And he had the top Flyers 'hits" stats from the regular season, well behind the top 3 or 4 Habs. People have watched too much of Downie's illegal 'hit' in an exhibition game, and recall the Flyers of last century (just checked the roster -- no Schultz, no Kelly :D )

Here we go again with all this "hitting" (must be the testosterone). The "hitting" (the ones that connect because most attempts are missed hits) look great and get everyone all excited, but the Habs will win this series if they simply skate and move the puck; they needn't get overly concentrated on 'physicality' -- that's what was doing them in against the Bruins; they weren't bothering to play hockey, just lookin' out for hits (both ways). What a disaster!!

I sincerely hope they don't fall into that trap again.

They weren't the Big Bad Bruins in Series 1.

These aren't the Broad Street Bullies in Series 2.

I don't think Philly will be able to do to us what Boston did, because it wasn't so much what they did to us, as what we didn't do back. We won't make that mistake again, we will adjust our game so that we can use our skill and speed no matter how they counter.

We are just getting warmed up for the big challenge....Pittsburgh or New York.

I say our power play comes back to life in this series, Pleks finds his groove again, Markov shakes off what's been bugging him, the brothers Kosti mature right before our eyes, Kovalev and Koivu work together like we've never seen, and Price, Komisarek, Hamrlik, and the grinder line of Smokes and Kosto remain their solid selves. Josh Gorges will continue to impress as well.

Keeping Streit as a forward seems the best way to use him. I wonder if keeping Brisebois in the press box would be the best way to use him....he's our only guy I am constantly worried about whenever he has the puck. I'm actually expecting him to put the puck directly in the pocket of one of the opposing players one of these shifts......he's so full of surprises these days....

Now, if only Higgins could bury more of his chances, he could be a difference-maker. He gets a lot of them....imagine if he hits the net every time he shoots, or becomes a feared force on those breakaways. All he has to do is learn a few more new moves. He should probably take notes from Kovalev and Koivu and even Pleks, then add those to his bag of tricks.

Plus, Carbo has his magic tie. He should always keep it handy to lift high in case Briere is heading for our net....you never know. But if it does keep working like it has been, then they will no doubt give them away to the fans so there are 21,000 of them being waved throughout the game!

I agree. 4 or 5 games for Montreal to win the series. Montreal got their scare after going 7 games with Bruins. They are now going to play like the #1 team in the East and not take even the Flyers for granted.

High scoring game for the top two lines and PP. Price only allowing 1 GAA per game in the series. Maybe he should get a shutout on the first night to remind them that he is the better goalie.

Briere is small and can be handled by any of the Montreal defence. He will also be hit by the bigger defence and checking forwards. Sorry Briere. :P

It is far easier to stop one player, Ovechkin then two top offensive lines and a great PP on Montreal.

I like and fully not surprised that Carbo is keeping the same game 7 lineup. Good news is that 3 or 4 healthy scratches in the press box are ready to jump into the series to provide more energy over the every other night playoff rounds. So long as the players play hard for 60 minutes Montreal will win. Our team is far more talented, block more shots, better goalie, better PK, better PP, more depth, and a much faster team then the Flyers.

Biron played good against the Caps but his style of play is easily taken apart by the fast skater and good passing on the top two lines and PP. Prediction Biron will see time on the bench after getting sunburn on the back of his neck.

Montreal plays the same way in game 7 and the Flyers will not last very long.

As to Flyers fans on the Montreal Fan Forum. I don't get it. I don't waste my time going to the Flyers Fan Forum.

Hey, I just heard on NHL On The Fly (on NHL Network) that the Habs are staying at a hotel, and playing game one like it's a road game. Isn't that cool? I feel even better about this playoff year hearing that. They're doing whatever it takes!

They did that in the 1st round also to stay away from media and all the attention if i'm not mistaken.

Let's hope for a great series but lets get through it clean and unscathed!

An interesting question is how will each team approach this series?....

A. Go all out to win the series?

or

B. Hold something back for the Round 3?

My prediction : A. GO ALL OUT! :o

Without a doubt these are the two best teams on the NHL and it will be a pleasure for this sad, :( quiet Bruin fan to watch!

HABS in 5 (although my favorite number is 4) GO HABS

everyone on tsn is bias, (except when theres an occasional show with mark recchi) its a leaf nation and no matter how much they try to down play the fact that they hate the habs, it still shows (and sportsnet is even worse)...Bob mackenzie, Daren Dregger, its killing them to have to talk about the habs every night, u can see it in their facial expressions..living in toronto i can say that the only network that doesnt play favoritism is the score..Dave koulious tells it how it is ( i think hes a habs fan actually)...thank god for maggie the monkey...she's smarter than tsn's entire panel combined!!

Anyway, cant wait for tonight, as it seems for the most of you as well!! Game #1 is soooo important, especially at home...almost a must win..Pick it up boys, go out there and win one for us!!!

Yeah Go habs Go!!!

I think depending on the 1st game, we might see O'byrne in the 2nd or 3rd games, if the Flyers start getting too rough. I would like to see more size on the D. and he would fit the bill.

Now that Carbs mixed his lines, we should get more balanced scoring as we did in game 7.
