If jersey is the armpit of the east, then philly is where the smell comes from. Time to crush the cryers!

Is carbo going with the same lineup?

Is dirty downie in for the flyers?

Hey, just thought I would let you guys know that on sportscenter this morning, Melrose picked the Flyers to win the series

What??? Is he still hating us ever since we measured Marty McSorely's stick??

Or.....maybe he's expecting the Habs to pull another disappearing act for several games of the series and not get away with it this time.

I wonder if Melrose picked the Senators to beat Pittsburgh....

Let's get the prayer in here.

Our Rocket, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy 9.

Thy Kingdom come,

thy will be done,

At the Bell as it was in The Forum

Give us this day our needed W.

And forgive us our losses,

as we thank those who lost against us.

And lead us not into golf courses,

but deliver us The Cup.

For thine is the heritage,

the power and the glory.

for ever and ever.

Amen

Hey, just thought I would let you guys know that on sportscenter this morning, Melrose picked the Flyers to win the series

OH yeah....and

GO HABS GO!!!!

Weird. And here I had been thinking that Melrose knew his stuff (he picked a SanJose-Montreal Final before the season even started!). I guess he's changed his mind (which he is doing a lot of these days); must not have liked Habs play aqainst Bruins (that's OK, Habs got all their poor play out of the way now!).

Here's the summary of 7 "pickers':

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/playoffs2008...tory?id=3364125

I note that:

  • Melrose is the only one picking the Flyers; the other 6 all pick the Habs (mostly in 5 or 6 games; no one picks anyone else to win any semi-final series in as little as 5 games)
  • Melrose had picked the Caps to beat the Flyers in the first round; they barely eake out a 7 game OT win, and now he's their biggest (only?) fan?
  • Melrose was the only one of the 7 who picked NJD to win over NYR (wrong!)
  • Only Melrose got as few as 4 of the 8 preliminary series' right -- the other 6 all had between 5 and 7 right. Heck the monkey did better the first round than Melrose!

So, Melrose is on a poor streak; good news then, that he picks the Flyers!! And all the 'winners' picked Montreal. :D

I am really quite surprised at Melrose. He had the opportunity to be the toast of the prognosticators town, seeing as he had picked Montreal to do well from the start of the season (assuming the Habs keep winning). I guess he's jumped off.

I was just wondering, after watching TSN this morning, if Biron is going to get any treatment from the Fans at the Bell. What I mean is, are we going to be chanting his name, like we did to Thomas in round 1?

OR

Are we going to combine the treatments we gave to Chara and Thomas all towards Briere! <--- This is what I think will happen.

Anyone have anything agaisnt Biron? I don't, I like the guy.

Refs tonight are Van Massenfrassennessen and Hassensfrnatzsen (not even going to bother with spelling here). Didn't they do Round 1 Game 1 for us?

nope. don't have anything against him. A really nice guy actually. BUT he is a Flyer and this is round 2. I hope he gets tossed and creamed with goals.

and yes ALL of Chara's boos x10000 will go towards Daniel Briere.

The monkey just picked habs to win the series on TSN.

I dont recall who on TSN (because I dont listen to them often so I dont know their names) but one of them on sports centre said: If the Habs play their game, they'll go through the Flyers by the time it takes to say Kostitsyn twice :D

Yep we had them, they were actually the best tandem we had in this series IMO

The more the same as Round 1, Game 1, the better, IMHO.

Hey, GreekHab, let's get our lucky charm, Misa Campo up!! (2 for 2). :D

You've got to your bit, if you expect the Hab players to go out tonight and do their's!

I think this series will be easier than Boston. All you have to do is shut down Briere. It should be a cinch for Carbo, Jarvis and Muller to come up with some scheme to check him into the ice. Biron is not that good, only a .908 save percentage. Get a lot of shots on him and you'll get your share of goals. I'm going to say Habs in the sweep. I don't see Philly winning a game.

Remember '86. Game seven squeaker against Hartford and then smooth sailing the rest of the way.
