I think the pressure should build up and we should start winning cause we are the only Canadian team left. Canada needs a cup and last Canadian team to win it was the Habs. :D

any thoughts?

I don't think pressure would be good for your young team. I would actually like to see a Canadian team win soon, and not the Anaheims, Tampa Bays, and Carolinas, where people couldn't care less about hockey. But now that the Habs are the only team left, I think I can wait one more year. ;)

I bet gary butthole is just happy as hell about that too. I bet he was crying in his beer when the Habs were hammering the ruins on Monday night. He really is a disgrace to this game. He has been on some weird mission to ruin the NHL, and he's succeeding. 2 refs? SUCKS!!! Shootout? SUCKS!!!!!! 1 point for an overtime loss? SUCKS!! And on and on!

Time to bring Lord Stanley's mug back home where it belongs! The next Canadian team to win the Cup will be the LAST Canadian team to win it! :D

GO HABS GO!!!!!

Good news.....Anaheim, Tampa Bay and Carolina are officially out of the playoffs.

Montreal isn't a Canadian team??? Maybe you should tell those people to stop smoking their leafs.....

this go Canada stuff is nice and I love that since I am Canadian BUT all the teams are mostly Canuck-European and some US.. so why not cheer for teams that are really due a cup and forget the FRIGGIN politics please. Such as poor st.louis, Chicago, Kings, Canucks etc.. these poor teams ARE OVERDUE!I would like to suggest that this be deleted by the Admin- we want hockey not politics, it feels like you only care for Canadian teams and dislike American teams...:angry::angry:

Hasnt there been a Canadian team in the last 3 finals. Its up to us now...

Yep Calgray, Edmonton, and Ottawa, and each was crap the next season (sadly Ottawa's first round loss in 4 games was the best result of the 3)

That said, I don't believe there is anything more to this than coincidence, so if we make it, then great.

A bit more than coincidence, considering that the Cup finalist and the Cup winner for the past six years has not done well at all the previous season, either failing to make the playoffs or getting knocked out in the first round.

And your point?????? LOL Actually I hate everybody but the Habs....and I hold a special blackness in my heart for your Flyers!!! I actually cheered for them once....I was a young boy and it was jan 11 1976 when they played the Soviet Red Army. The one and only time I cheered for those collection of goons they had. ;)

The chances of a Canadian team winning the Stanley are not great... six CA-based teams vs. twenty-four US-based teams means the odds are not in our favor... I love an under-dog vs. Goliath situation.

IMO the Habs have been "under-dogs all season in the eyes of the powers that be in the NHL... Hockey is business and Bettman is business and the Habs organization is not an issue when it comes to League dollars... but they (the League Money-makers) really want those US-dollars... 25 Stanleys for the Habs is not a priority.

I've heard that insult a lot too - mostly from Leafs fans. But they tell me they're not a Canadian team because of the whole sepratizim thing - stupid, stupid.

They (the Leafs and their fans) are an Island... lost in a great big Sea :) more American than any other Canadian city in terms of economics and lifestyle... but they are faithful to "their nation"... well sort of, in terms of knowing what they've got there and still they believe

Have you ever seen a blue maple leaf anywhere else... talk about believing anything eh

Well... it depends of the POV. I like shootouts and the point for an overtime loss. I have a problem with the pair o'zebras on most nights though.

I think the NHL will get better when it will understand that either no or all games must be 3 point games. Give 3 pts for a 60-minute win and share the 3 points between OT teams and it will make regulation wins that much more important. Anyways, it's better to reward the extra effort most OT requires than not at all.
