koreysecord1992
A strong defensive presence to round out our top 4, a skilled and talented finishing winger, and I'd like someone who can drop the gloves while not being a liability. And solid, determined play, stronger face offs and penalty killing, and consistent goaltending.
Habcup
Need for a lot of the kids to evolve/improve - every position. Need a #1 winger/center (Sundin would be nice). This player needs to have character!!! Need a #3 or #4 Dman - Maybe a Mcdough could step in and a Jorges can step in the #4 spot We need to keep Koivu!!! BrownSugarl
We need our best players to be our best players, give 110%, play one game at a time, put the puck in the net, skate a full 60 minutes, not give up many rebounds, take advantage of opportunities, create scoring chances, get lucky bounces, and other cliches. I would be happy if they would do that on a more consistent basis during the regular season too. Markov-Komisarek Hamrlik- Campbell ? Redden? Liles? But more probably Markov-Komisarek Hamrlik, Obyrne. Nothing wrong with O'Byrne as he provided another Komisarek type physical presence on the team the last two months of the regular season that helped Montreal finsih 1st in the Conference. However Carboneau removed that from the second pairing for most of the playoffs. Gorges is solid and I guess I am one of the few who thinks and the first two pairings are just fine until a few of the defensive prospects like Carle, Valentenko, Weber, and McDonagh crack the team. Couldnt agree more. I like our defense as is. In fact, I think our team is stonger from the blueline back than it has been since...well maybe the early 90s. I also think we have enough depth in our system to have strong 3rd & 4th lines (maybe adding one CHEAPER version of Smolinski or Bonk wouldnt hurt). Meaning that I believe our ONLY priority right now should be to add a top six (preferably top 3) forward. I think we'll be definite contenders if Gainey can add just that one puzzle piece this summer.

halaktheway
We need to add players that fit into our system. Brisebois, I would consider a success this year, and Smolinski, not so much, but definately not a failure.. but we need to keep working on bringing up our younger players, and when we sign players, make damn sure they can match the pace of our team, we're one of the fastest, if not the fastest team, and having players like slowinski doesnt make sense. Keep: Tom the bomb, Mark Streit, Michael Ryder (if he signs at a discounted rate) Drop: smolinski, brisebois. Target: Pavol Demitra, Marian Hossa, Marian Gaborik, Brian Rolston. dw1967
To win the Stanley Cup in '08-'09 we need to keep the current club together (minus Smolinski), and sign Brian Campbell. That'd do it.
Larry-Robinson
I'm not so worried on the back end and in net as I feel we are fairly solid,my main concern this year would to make sure we can lure a top forward and another forward with character.I wouldn't mind seeing Sundin doubt if it will ever happen he would be the forward with character and I wouldn't mind seeing a Jagr or Hossa maybe even a Nash via a trade. That would solve a lot of our problems and surely put us in the drivers seat to have a real good shot at Stanley. johnny_canuck_21
To win the cup in 2008-09, we will have to somehow move the whole Wings team to Montreal. There is no way that the Habs can reach the Wings' level of ability in just one year. They are light years ahead of the Canadiens. It (the Cup in 2008-09) is just not going to happen. A lot, if he hasn't developed at all? There's a reason why Phoenix hasn't signed him. I don't know why, but there's obviously something up. WE NEED MATS!
