"too much" is debatable...it gets added to the what ifs

what if by signing sundin the habs found that missing piece to the stanley cup?

see what i mean?

Indeed.. I think he's a great fit .. great leader.

But if he does sign, do you think him and Koivu would share the captaincy?

Kinda like a Drury/Briere kinda thing.

not unless he comes back from death to play for this team.

to me koivu is the sole captain and until he himself desides to pass down the torch nobody else should touch that "C"

but i definatly see him with an "A" and hed definatly be the "C" instead of kovy should koivu go down. in my books anyways.

TSN doesnt have anything on him...

Steve Quailer

History

2006-07: Played for the Rocky Mountain Wrangler midget team in Colorado. Selected by the Waterloo Black Hawks in the 2007 USHL Entry Draft with the 18th overall pick.

2007-08: Joined to the Sioux City Musketeers for his first season in the USHL Named to Western Division team for the USHL Prospects/All-Star Game. Earned some notoriety at the USHL Fall Classic and had a good start to the season. Played consistent minutes and saw time on special teams. Displayed a consistent offensive presence and was among top scorers for Sioux City.

Talent Analysis

Quailer has excellent breakaway type of speed and a good stride. He has good hands and shoots the puck well. He has good playmaking ability, good vision and is able to play any one of the forward positions. He utilizes a very quick release, not generally winding up but is able to snap the puck from all areas of the ice. Quailer is very strong on the puck and is able to protect in the corners.

The Colorado native is naturally strong but he still needs to fill out his frame. He hasn’t been working out off the ice as some players might be doing at this point in their early careers. It has been noted that he should focus on going hard to the net and burying the puck when he gets his chances. Once his confidence levels rise a long with maturity, he’s appears to be a strong diverse power upfront.

Future

Quailer has had a lot thrown at him over the last year coming to the USHL from midget AAA in Colorado. He has adjusted to that change and has been noticed for his play. He will continue to develop in the NCAA, as he has committed to Northeastern University for the fall of 2008.

Another Yank eh? <_< Do we have a scout on staff with the US under-18 program we've been hitting it up pretty hard the last few drafts.

Seriously though welcome aboard Danny.

I think it has more to do with the fact that we don't have to sign them to contracts as fast. Gives them more time to develop, gives the Habs more time to see what they're getting. The transfer agreement with European players fell apart, so from my understanding this places players playing overseas in the same boat presently. Maybe having said that we could move up to grab a certain Belarussian. :)

It will be interesting to see what happens. I LOVE THE DRAFT!!

True, when you think of it .. if we sign Sundin..

We'll have 3 very experienced leaders in Sundin, Kovalev and Koivu.

Along the lines of players with funny names....I hope we pick Danny's Mexican cousin, Jeesus Kristo

id rather have hard working something to prove americans than players with all the talent and no will!
