soccerkid1on1
Should we crap him??? I say NO!!! Way to expensive for 40 points only!!!
habs1119
If he ends up being bought out he's UFA and could possibly be signed for a deal, 2yrs 1-1.5Mil per sounds pretty good, make the 2nd year a club option. I think he'd go for it and would definately help our 3rd line with some grit and offence
gunner_canadian
If he gets bought out, I try him as a free agent

sens-fan-96
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=241810&...s=topStory_main I could see him being picked up on re-entry waivers if he isn't bought out (and yes I knew that is a while down the road). badandy_mtl
id give him a go as long as he can stay healthy. He's never been the same player though since his "incident"
Hemsky83_09
The Anaheim Ducks are parting ways with Todd Bertuzzi, as the club has placed the veteran winger on waivers with the intention to buy out the remaining season of his contract with the organization. Bertuzzi was reunited with Ducks general manager Brian Burke last summer after signing a two-year, $8-million deal. If unclaimed, the team will pay two-thirds of his remaining deal and he will become an unrestricted free agent. Bertuzzi, 33, played in 68 regular season games this past season, scoring 14 goals and 40 points. In 793 career NHL games, the former Vancouver Canuck has 240 goals and 580 points. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=241810&...s=secStory_main
FlHabsFan
Isnt that lawsuit still going on against him for the hit?
russianhabsfan
I have mixed feelings about this one... if he was a center - maybe... I see him more as a Ranger, a Bruin or a Shark.
jzun00
He dosen't really meet the team's philosophy of playing a fast paced game.
29Dryden29
Please Gainey sign Burt instead of Sundin I am sure we can pick him up for a fraction of what we would have to pay Mats.....
TORHABSFAN
Bert is done.. He failed in Detriot and in Anahiem and he would fail here.. also he is a destraction and not the type of person I want on this team.
leafs_rock_go_mccabe
Bertuzzi is a tad injury prone, too, I believe. Hasn't he been having back problem after back problem lately? Bertuzzi is not the kind if player we're going to be looking at. We want someone who's dynamic.
sens27
Why dont we just try and sign everyone that comes around Bertuzzi was done 2 years ago we dont need him here.
fourtrax
I really don't think we need a new topic every time a non-Habs player goes on waivers. Just my opinion, though.

If you were still a moderator you could merge it, Weep! Why oh why aren't you a moderator!? And also, yeah, I agree. I guess people are just excited with free agency approaching. Should be in the Around the League Thread at the very least, and perhaps in a waiver thread over there.
booboo_mtl
Bertuzzi would equal a step in the wrong direction. No gracias.
sens-fan-96
After what Kovalchuk was able to do down the stretch with Holik and Thorburn on his line, I think Bertuzzi would be the perfect RW for him. With his size he can create open space for Ilya in the offensive zone. The Thrashers can bolster their RW position, and be able to spend more to get some UFA D help. Innis_Mor
Isnt that lawsuit still going on against him for the hit?Yup. IMO, his mind won't be on his game (or what he has left of it, these days). Anaheim's skipping him for a reason (or two). He's been damaged goods ever since the "incident". Mauro-Biello
We already have Tanguay as a top 6 forward, we now need a top 3 or top 4 dman. Besides Bert isn't even a top 6 anymore.

Bourne
I wouldn't mind Bertuzzi signing with given that I think he does have at least one good season left in him. Nevertheless he would be worthwhile on our checking line due to his size. In the end I certainly could care less overall.
