Charon1
I doubt that Gainey signed him to play up with the big club, however i wouldn't be too surprised to see him play a couple games if a few defencemen go down with injuries since he does have some NHL experience. madsprite18
Alex Henry (born October 18, 1979, in Elliot Lake, Ontario) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is 6'5" tall, weighs 220 lbs, shoots left and plays defence for the Nashville Predators. Looks like a tough guy for hamilton. This is not his first time in Hamilton....he was here in the Edmonton days.....he will be a good veteran presence.

SteenIsThaFuture
That doesn't make sense to me either, though I realize I'm in the minority on this one. Ya I don't think Henry should get a spot ahead of Brisebois or O Byrne.
Johnyc
I believe he should. I believe we are soft and need to show a greater willingness to engage in battles. Henry, much like a Laroque or Stewart can bring this element to the team. Guys like Pacioretty should not have to fight. I am hoping that Henry gets a chance today. I watched him play and fight Neil in the preseason and saw that he was not outclassed in that tilt.

pitbull12
Great first game for Henry, did not look out of place and he used his size well.
CanadianMike
Just one game, but I was not impressed at all. Looks soooo slow out there. Not what we need. Yeah the fight was cool (I guess). Our D is in bad shape and I don't think this guy can help any.

adamkennelly
Does he make a huge difference in our line-up because of his skills as a D man - nope but the fact that they brought him in provides some validation for me as a fan fed up with our soft teams. having him take a spot on our 3rd defensive pairing is not going to hurt us too bad and the element of size and toughness he delivers is needed. we have such a soft team its embarrassing - I frankly would be fine with having Henry, Stewart and Laraque play every game - does anyone push Boston around - nope - Washington - nope - Calgary- nope - Habs - yes, all the time and our skilled players go into a shell when that happens.
