Dan Boyle Traded From Tampa To San Jose

Recommended Posts

San Jose did not take long to find a good replacement for Campbell.

They gave up a lot to get him but yeah Boyle is good.

What is Tampa doing? Crappy goaltending, no D, 47 forwards ready to show up for training camp! Who's going to play on PK? Who's playing point on PP with Boyle gone? Do they have any D who can move the puck?

I'm stunned by the moves so far but at least they are bold and exciting. I don't think this team will be good though - they will have to score 4-5 goals a game to win.

There's no D in Tampa Bay or Lightning but that shouldn't determine how you build your team.

I think theyre just gonna play 6 forwards at a time. Forget about the goalie or defencemen

this is my favourite part of the first article, from len barrie: "But this was a decision we made to get younger and create some space to pay our forwards what we need to pay."

there is such thing as having too much money invested in forwards...didn't they learn last season that being stacked up front isn't enough.

You need to pay Ryan Malone that type of money

Younger - they just signed Mark Recchi!?! These guys have no plan but throw money around. That's it. Well at least we know who's calling the shots in Tampa Bay - ownership, not managment. Based on Toronto and the NY Islanders we all know how well that plays out. If I was Jay Feaster I'd quit - he's not a bad GM someone else would pick him up.

I kind of liked what the Lightning were doing until they made their defense even worse. They have decent depth at forward, but I'm not expecting a whole lot from this team.

That pretty much sums my thoughts up perfectly. Crappy goaltending and AHL-calibre D don't win you too many games, even in the weak Southeast division.

These new owners look like class-less goofballs the way they've been handling the Lightning.

Go to their site right now and watch the intro... it's sickening. The owners are making themselves front and centre. Just doesn't sit well with me. Seems that they think they're celebrities. My advice to them: Just sign the cheques and let hockey people take care of the hockey. Be proud of your team, sure, but stop trying to steal the spotlight.

"Owners to unite us".... pffffft
