DA_Champion
This guy was a first round draft pick, he made the national junior team four times, yet he´s still not in the NHL. I´m very surprised, did something happen to him along the way?
risteenhuis
I remember him from the World Juniors. Montreal is deep at defence. Now we are even deeper. Maybe he will be given shot in training camp to make the team as we need someone to blast shots from the point without Streit and Souray on the roster. I would think that Subban, Belle, Weber, and Carle would all be given a chance to make the team so Montreal has a good point shot this coming season. Unforunately this probably means that Yemelin and Korneev are remaining in Russia. They would have had the best odds of making the NHL this season. I think it's pretty safe to say that the only Russian players we can definitely expect to see in the NHL are the ones who play their junior here. It's tough to expect these kids to come over here to play for less than 100K, when they can make a heck of a lot more over there.
357908_1475251331
ach,i just don't know enough, but reading vs. saying that locke was 2 time mvp in the ohl and not being able to find a list of other mvp's, being so new to the canadien's system as a fan, and seeing graeme's point about center, though wondering about tanguay's deal from calgary too-- if there wasn't some gm's fitting room going on---i not only don't know enough, but now i'm a little lost too. any comparison to gorges - and scoring- doesn't help me feel any better with belle. gorges doesn't score a lot. Memories-of-Steve-Penney
This guy was a first round draft pick, he made the national junior team four times, yet he´s still not in the NHL. I´m very surprised, did something happen to him along the way? He got his shot last year. He was a "project" draft pick who has tremendous physical talent and an enthusisasm for the game. His "hockey sense" has always been an issue. D-men take time to develop and trading a limited value potential 4th line center for a guy who could be a legit top 6 d-man (at an affordable price) is a wise move. Perhaps with a different coaching approach Belle may find his way. He was brutal last year but maybe like Ron Hainsey, (a bust for us but turned out ok in Columbus) a different organization is all he needs. If Belle fails we lost a good character guy who likley will spend his career in the minors as a top flight minor leaguer. Low risk-high reward deal. What little I've seen of Yemelin makes me wish he would take a shot here. This new Russian league seems to have some real $ behind it. At least in the short term, this league looks like it will give the NHL a real run for players. I assume gate revenue will drive the league (I don't know about TV $) The $ difference between his Russian deal and what he would get in the NHL in relation to Ray Emery (had he not been a whack job) is not that great. As for our boys, it looks like we missed the boat when we finally started making quality Russian picks because now we can't get them over here. Our new philosophy of drafting underage American players appears to be wise and possibly tredn setting but it leaves me wishing for motre diversity. However, I won't complain if the picks turn out good.
Marshizzle
This is Gaineys 7th Defenceman, barring any trades involving bouillion or Dandenault(Forward as well I know) where Brisebois would be our 7th. Komi Markov Hammer OByrne Gorges Bouillion/Belle/(Brisebois)
QbGamer
i dont know about that. He just picked him up. We will have to see how he does in camp and so on. No matter how much scouts have watched him play. We will need to see him up close and personal to see how this Belle kid will play. Would be pretty awsome if he does end up being our 7th d, as it would be a even better pickup by gainey, but time will tell

Komi Markov Hammer OByrne Gorges Bouillion/Belle/(Brisebois) I think it's more likely that Belle will be playing in Hamilton this year. However, the acquisition may indeed be some sort of leverage in the O'Byrne negotiations. Who knows, right? Maybe Belle will see some callup action should we encounter one too many injuries during the regular season.
FlipBoy
I never saw this guy play, how's his game style? And is he good enough to be a regular on the Canadiens roster? Can he bring some depth? Doe she have any upside or downside to his game? ...
