gracie12
Florida will have a tough time. What about St. Louis? I cant name anyone on that team except Kariya and Brewer. Canes and Atlanta -- although playing in that division makes all of those teams level off. Good point about St Louis. I think Carolina should do ok, as long as a couple of their players have bounce back years. Atlanta Im on the bubble about.

But only if Legace stays healthy, because Mason's a solid backup but he has terrible numbers against the better half of the league. Solid backup though

Charlemagne
hey habs fans! first post on your boards. i have no hatred for the canadiens, and i enjoy talking hockey with all nhl fans, so i hope you'll welcome me. on topic: i think it'll be the kings again, although i cringe for the thrashers and islanders. roy_133
Good goalies but look at whats in front of them! TO has a couple of solid defensmen, but horrible overall team defense....the Isles...well I think Mark Streit just became their #1 dman - and while I like Mark & will miss him - oh man Id be scared if he was even in our top 3, frankly. Toronto has a very good goalie and a good defense, I'm not saying they'll be good but they're not the worst team in the league. We've iced worse teams in the early part of the century and because Hackett and Theodore played so well, they kept us from being true bottom feeding teams. There were years when our leading scorer would be under 50 points, and our D wasn't much better. The Isles are worse then the Leafs I think, but again, Dipietro will make them better then a team like the Kings imo. I do see the Islanders having a top 4-5 pick next year though. johnny_canuck_21
la still has like 14 million to spend though before hitting the minimum allowed It's not much good if they have the cap space, but don't spend it wisely. Who can they acquire now that will make them a good team? The pickings have become slim. The teams that are well below the minimum are usually the poorer teams, who can't afford to spend. The Kings will spend enough to get to the minimum, but will it do them any good? I predict they will again be one of the weaker teams this year, but that's the great thing about hockey; most predictions are usually wrong. westernleafsfan
LA will is in a very tough division, but with the new schedule teams of the same division only meet 6 times a year, not 8 times like they used to. so that'll probably only help the kings who already started to improve and bounce back from the horrible season they had and won quite some games in the last couple of weeks... i'll have to go with florida or the isles for dead last, but i don't want to see either of them getting tavares... i'll just have to hope for the lottery, right as for worst name in the league (it's off topic - i know - but i like this )... maple leafs anyone? i'm not scared in any way by any sort of leafs... thrashers is bad too, but only because it's so close to trash... and then capitals? the founders of the caps must have been very creative... bruins? can somebody tell me what a bruin actually is (honestly, don't know it!) ?? ... well and the sabres would have a good name, but they keep putting buffalos and slugs on their jerseys, since their from buffalo the buffalo buffalos would sound stupid so they should just rename themselfes to buffalo slugs or start putting sabres on their jerseys again...(love their vintage logos!)... yeah, that was long... i could probably do a rant on almost any of the 30 team names in the league but it'll take too much time and i'm already waaaaay off topic, sorry for that, i just couldn't help it

johnny_canuck_21
IM sticking to my guns, the bruins will be the worst, We beat them 8x last year Last year the Bruins finished ahead of 15 other teams, and now you expect them to drop to last overall, even though they will have Bergeron back. The bottom 2 teams, LA and Tampa bay, were 23 pts back at 71. In 2006-07, Boston had 76 pts, and in 2007-08 they had 94, an improvement of 18 pts. In 2006-07, Montreal had 94 pts, and in 2007-08 they had 104, an improvement of 14 pts. Also, you forget they found out how to beat us in the playoffs, when we went 4-3, and they won 2 of the last 3. QbGamer
With the bruins buying out one of there better players and replacing him with Ryder, i think there team will only be worse.. too bad we only play them 6x instead of 8 this year

Maybe your feelings have something to do with your thoughts on Ryder. Why don't we just leave it until October, and see what happens.
CanadianMike
IM sticking to my guns, the bruins will be the worst, We beat them 8x last year as much as I hate the Bruins I think you will be wrong. It's obvious that your hate for Ryder makes you say this. They will not miss Murray at all.
spoked-b
IM sticking to my guns, the bruins will be the worst, We beat them 8x last year What makes you figure that? They added Ryder, and wasnt their best player hurt all last season and they still made the playoffs? Imagine them with Bergeron.

Ronsard39
1) Islanders 2) Maple laughs 3) Cansucks (They don't get better this season, they've got the best goalie in the NHL but he won't save them next season.) 4) Kings 5) Thrashers
