habs11
Who do you think will be the Habs best rookie this year? I think it'll be Valentenko. Big D man with a great hard shot. I think he will even play on the powerplay.
Larry-Robinson
I think it will be Chipchura could be that diamond in the rough could prove to be a good centreman with the responsible defensive capabilities to play without the puck in our zone.I think if he is given the chance he will shine for us this season. js2
Does Chipchura qualify to be a rookie? Nope I don't think we'll have anyone on the team as a rookie this season. Unless of course there's quite a few injuries.

CoopII
I think Chipchura has played more than the requisite games to be classified as a rookie, so if he makes it this year he won't be eligible for the Calder (not that I think he'd make it, but I guess that's how you define a rookie - someone who can win the Calder). I think Chips will make it, but since he's not a rookie, I would say no one barring massive injuries.
tony1234
I think the possability exists on D. Someone may come up to replace an injured player and impress so much that trades follow.

tony1234
Max Pacioretty He is another one, if he can translate his success so far into a camp beyond compare, he may just play for the Habs, at least as an injury replacement. After that anything can happen.
Innis_Mor
I take it that Halak does not qualify because his two play-off appearances last year make it 8 games for 2007-08, and hence two season with 6 or more games in each? Otherwise it would have been Halak, hands down.

habfanforlife-85
If Price wasn't even a candidate for rookie of the year I don't see how Halak could become a top rookie as a backup goalie. MMW: It will be one of Pacioretty or Valentenko

kovy-27
what about McDonaugh or Fischer...I think they are both projected for there first season with the minors, but I think either one or both will be called up and possibly keep a job with the big club. WTA
I'd love to see either Greg Stewart or Max Pacioretty win a spot with Montreal on the left side, both of those guys are tough and strong and they both work hard....Kyle Chipchura, he's a good hard working defenisve player, who could probably upgrade Montreals faceoff percentage, and penalty killing...and either Pavel Valentenko, Mathieu Carle or Yannick Weber at the point.........Valentenko is a very big and strong, physical defenseman with a heavy shot....Carle is a pretty decent offensive defenseman and Weber definately has an NHL calibre shot from the point who could definately replace Streit IMO
Telly_39_s_1
Gregory Stewart looked quite good in the one game he played last season against the Leafs. Hopefully we'll be seeing more of him this season.
FlipBoy
BEN MAXWELL! Some reason I think Subban will make the team this year...I don't know why I still think he needs to develop in a lower level to reach his potential...
leafs_rock_go_mccabe
I honestly don't feel like any rookies are going to make an impact on the team this season. I'm sure some youngsters are going to get called up, but Chipchura, who is not a rookie, will probably be the only one who makes any sort of NHL impact as a 3rd/4th line center. Pacioretty - AHL. Valentenko - AHL. Subban - OHL or AHL. Weber - OHL or AHL. Maxwell - AHL. White - AHL.
