chrisjamessauve
The Edmonton Oilers have named Kevin Lowe as the team's President of Hockey Operations. As President of Hockey Operations, Lowe has named Steve Tambellini as the team's new GM and Kevin Prendergast Assistant GM. http://www.globesports.com/servlet/story/R...ortsHockey/home Full Story on the Oilers Website: http://oilers.nhl.com/team/app/?service=pa...rticleid=379246

tony1234
Tambellini is said to be one of the best young guys ready to be a GM in the NHL. Prendergast is well respected too.

habsforevernomatterwhat
Oilers fancy way to get Lowe out of the GM position. Does this mean they can now make trades with Anaheim?
Kubby31
Does this mean they can now make trades with Anaheim? It sure could be possible now, it's not the oilers in general that burke has issues with. It's dealing with lowe one on one,in my opinion.

Dintrox12
Glad to see Steve Tambelini get a GM job. I thought he should have gotten the job in Vancouver.
Le-Chiffre
Probably cuz soo many people hate lowe, he can have his secratary in this new guy make the calls for him I don't think "...soo many people hate lowe..." . Obviously, he and Brian Burke do not get along. As well, Sabres GM Larry Quinn is not too fond of Lowe after his offer sheet to one of his players . But his reputation is pretty solid. Jim Rutherford recently even spoke positively of Lowe. Lowe did speak about wanting less stress, more help, and more time for his personnal life. He did lose his assistant GM last year to the Blue Jackets, so he has been carrying a bit of work load. Also, the new owner wanted to increase the manpower of the front offfice and have an "outsiders" opinion ( in terms of not being an ex-Oiler or what not). Lowe will still have a lot of input in the decision making process. The more minds and better.
