Hoyle00cdn
Are they including vintage hab players, or vintage hab teams. The former would be good, but the latter would be amazing. I've always thought it'd be a good idea if EA released a sister NHL game with only classic vintage teams that can play against each other. No season play, just exhibition and playoff modes. QbGamer
No matter what this game is going to be GReat They keep improving it by 2-3x each and every year
Maritimer11
The last one I have is 07, and I was so fustrated with the skill of my goalie sometimes I would just hate to play. I got a PS3 a few weeks ago so I will probably buy 09, hopefully if the regular game modes suck online will be decent. All legend team? They'll screw it up somehow i'm sure. keithman
No they won't screw it up. Have you guys seen canadiens.nhl.com? They have pics of Dryden and Guy Lafleur up....BEAUTIES!!! They have Dryden's famous stance animated, they have guy lafleur with NO HELMET (classic), and the gameplay is even more refined than last year's version (08) which I thought was an awesome step in the right direction. In fact, NHL 08 is my favourite NHL game to date (been playing since '93...yes, habs baby) They aren't and will not screw it up. Also, Be a Pro mode is gonna be INSANE. Bulldogs and habs......YES! if anyone has xbox here, lemme know your gamertag. see you online. Are they including vintage hab players, or vintage hab teams. Telly_39_s_1
I wish John Ferguson were in the game. I would love to use one of the toughest Habs to ever lace on skates... Oh well, guess I'll hit everyone with Rocket Richard instead
FlHabsFan
I was so dissapointed in last years game. It was like NHL07 with a new calendar (and changed controls). Yeah, they added the ahl, but I felt the game had no other improvements. At least as far as the PC version went
dso67
the pc version for 08 was crappy, it wasn'nt next gen engine. this years version should be better, but if it isn't the reason behind that is they are wanting to sell more for the consoles. At least as far as the PC version went The PC version was the PS2 version, just with updated (well...at least from PS2) graphics... Same with this year's PC version. the 360 and PS3 have had a different game. NHL 08 was awesome, and no doubt 09 will be even better.
Joker-Hab
Thats the thing with EA's NHL franchise, they only have the next gen. Gaming engine for PS3 and 360. I own a 360, and NHL 08 was absolutely amazing on it, definatly the best hockey game ive ever played, and i expect NHL 09 to be even better. I dont know how it is on PS3, ive heard mixed reviews, apparently its best played on 360, or thats what ive read on gamespot.com?
koreysecord1992
My little brother has got a PS3 and he's counting the days until 09 is released. I didn't get a chance to play 08 on any system, so I'm looking forward to making a few special visits to the house and schooling him. He's a Bruins fan, so we've had some great video game battles over the years.

tomto
I don't play many Video game but I've Played many NHL Games The only 2 problems I have noticed in the past few years with both EA and 2K games are: 1.I understand That hockey players are big but... Alot of players are absolute morbidley obese giants that ultra slow. (Ever play win Sundin anyone...) - It doesen't seem to improve this year 2. Not Very accurate Skill settings. Some Very Over-rated players but there isin't many Underrated ones. -I hope This will be better although I Understand They only see the player on paper with last yeats stats. detritus
I don't know if anyone has seen it yet, but EA sports producers are releasing blogs with snippets of game play. One of the more recent ones the producer's (playing as Ruslan Salei) check's Tanguay. Tangauy immediately goes down injured.... Let's hope this isnt a sign of things to come! QbGamer
Ya but the problem with Ea Nhl video games, is no matter what we always end up winnig the cup with the montreal canadiens.. I woudlnt take too much into the game itself. Other then that old problem of all PLayers on the cover of the Madden nfl games always got injured that year. Id prefer to not have any canadiens on the cover of the game...
Bruno-C--Parenteau
NHL 08 was actually my first hockey game ever, so I can't compare it with past editions. I played it to death, though, so I guess that says I like it One thing I disliked was the "sim" option of dynasty mode. Somehow, I did not feel my actions and descisions were translated properly into the team's behavior. Even with the most brutal team, winning 75 percent of all games in a season, if I had the misfortune of getting to the playoffs against the Sidneys, I would automatically get eliminated. I'd like that fixed. So, it is my hope for the new release, this year. (Now, I know playoffs are a whole different game than the regular season, but the bias towards that team is rediculous. That, and after a short time, Crosby reaches 99 in almost all his stats. What's that mean, that Gretsky was at 120 or something? Come on, you can't play that perfect )
maximus123
if that online feature (EA hockey ligue) is as good as it sounds, its a cant miss http://www.easports.com/nhl09/media.jsp?itemID=eashl

Kostitsyn (92) Koivu (mid 90s) Markov (98) Mikko Koivu (mid/low 90s) Pahlsson was a 92 for crying out loud. Once you start building up the team upgrades your rating just go through the roof!! I also got Lecavalier by trading Bonk and someone for someone Zubrus, Zubrus for Slava Kozlov, Kozlov and someone for Morrow, Morrow and a freeagent for Vinny. Haha. Basically, Bonk for Lecavalier when the night was done.
