Mike Komisarek

lmao did you see them get face to face after a scrum maybe in the third period? wow. they fully hate each other. thats gonna be one epic fight when it finally goes down.

Yeah, I remember seeing them standing, staring each other down. Those guys are monsters, and I love their competition. It's going to be one huge battle should they stay with their respective teams for several seasons. With, of course, Komisarek coming out on top! :D

i think lucic is biting off more than he can chew...it really pisses him off that no matter how hard he tries to get under cousin mikes skin, he just wont fight...Komi knows his role is too valuable on Defence to fight and waste 5 mins in the box for this kid....thats why it sucked when he got the 10 minute misconduct for what looked like to be an argument and a little bit of pushing and shoving along the boards..i guess the refs had enough of their bitching at eachother. But the fight is coming really, really soon, i can feel it. and when it does, poor milans nose will be all bloody and broken! hahaha

Komi is a very talented, hard working guy and would never want to sit out for a minor injury. IMO though if he is nursing some sort of injury I would like to see him sit a game or 2 and try and heal back 100%. He is my favorite player and I hate when he is not on the ice but hey with the depth we have it would only be best in the long run to keep everyone as healthy as possible. Mabey when Bouillon gets back give him a break if needed? Bouilon could help fill in for the physical play Komi brings anyway.

I hope it is nothing though...

Agreed ! He isnt himself since game 1

I dunno, if Komo is hurt, i wish they would just sit him and let him heal. He is definatly not playing like himself and it shows, mind you he already has a goal!. I wanna see the old Komo, the monster that could plow oversomeone and block shot after shot, he just doesnt seem right .

Well, he's tied for third place with 15 blocked shots behind Scuderi (who played one more game) and Kubina (*pukes* he wont stay 2nd for very long lol) and he's second with 20 hits behind Doan and this should be fixed tonight ;)

I dont think that Komi is playing hurt and he's not playing too bad either. He just needs to get into his game and stay constant. The brain cramps will go away by themselves as we advance in the season :)

Is starting to play with more confidence, but has to make better decisions when the puck is still up for grabs. More than once this year, he's fanned on a pass or shot and created a scoring chance against us, and he doesn't have the speed to get back into the play and make up for his mistake.

Man, I hope we can resign this guy for a long-term deal.

We may have the best defensive prospects in the league, but they won't be ready by the end of the 2008-2009 season. They might be ready by the end of 2010-2011, which is when Hamrlik and Markov become UFAs.

The way Komisarek is playing, I'd suggest 6 years, 37 million, or something like that. I'd say him and Tanguay are the top two priorities of this off-season, the other guys being RFAs (Higgins, Plekanek, Latendresse), older guys (Kovalev, Koivu, Lang) or players replaceable by $850, 000 guys such as Greg Stewart (Kostopoulos, Begin, Dandeneault, Bouillon, Brisebois).

Leads the NHL in shots blocked and hits so far this year. Stats can be found on www.nhl.com

What makes you think Gainey even started?

Because once we lock Komisarek up then we can move on....and he can get even another D man at trade deadline without having to worry about locking Komisarek. I think like him and Koivu, Gainey would not stall negotiations until its too late (end of the season). Gainey is smarter then that which leads me to believe that he should if he's not already think about locking Komisarek up long term. Let's not lose this guy like we did with Souray...

I don't think Gainey and Komisarek's camp are going to start talking until the season really get underway. I'm sure both parties want to see how Komisarek performs up until the All-star break, giving one party or another leverage in the negotiations. I'm sure Gainey's not rushing into contract talks because Gainey, like we all know, is a patient man. I believe he will negotiate before the season ends, but probably not until a healthy portion of the season is complete and Komisarek can be evaluated on his play from the 2008-2009 season itself.
