fourtrax
I'll say it again: when Komisarek is healthy, Gorges should be permanently paired with Hamrlik. Then we could actually have a decent top-four.

I'm not saying they're not dependable. But if we put Gorges with Hamrlik, we could play our top-four more frequently and be perfectly comfortable with them against the other team's skill players. I am sick of seeing O'Byrne out against the Kessels of the league.

Guest Kovy-27
He should just go and slap O'bryne,he ruined his night. What a fantastic player he is and he really deserves everything that is happening to him.I remembered when he first came with us,not everybody used to like him but he would always play with pasion and determination and at the end his hard work earned him a spot with the team. I do not see how any goal scored by any player can be "too bad" given how hard it has been for the Habs to score in the last half dozen games or so. risteenhuis
Nice that Gorges got a goal. But the most important thing is that Gorges is becoming our 4th D. Clearly Komi, Markov, Hammer and Gorges are the 4 best D in Montreal. Might be argued that Komi is expendible for the right star player like Bouwmeester or Gaborik to join the team with Komi as part of the package. Gorges and Patches for Rivet. Pretty good trade if both players continue to develop.

Everything (IMO) is spot on about Josh, except the opening sentence -- that's not him at all: http://www.nhl.com/ice/recap.htm?id=2008020301 Everyone on the Canadiens was quick to come to O'Byrne's defense, especially Gorges, who shot a nasty look toward the crowd after the game. "I know it's tough because they expect a lot and we expect a lot out of ourselves as well," Gorges said. "I know how it feels. I've put the puck into my net before. It's never intentional. It's a bad break, and nobody feels more sick to his stomach about it than Ryan does. "I just thought to chant his name was tough because I know how he feels and he'd give anything to take it back." That's, Josh Gorges -- (a future 'A' on this team).
bailey1
^^^^^ That's really interesting. Komisarek 'C' Higgins 'A' Gorges 'A' Chipchura 'A' we can have 3 Alternates, right?
johnny_canuck_21
I am glad that Gorges finally got that first goal. IMO he has the ability to score a few more, and I hope this is the start of something good for him and the Canadiens.

I can see why he and Price have hit it off. Gorges shot "skipped" which likely fooled McDonald. Hey, Gorges almost had a second goal (was it in OT) when he went right to the net -- there was room upstairs, he just couldn't get it up there.
