ColRouleBleu
6points in 4 games. If he keeps this up.. Wow that'll be alot of points. in 40 games he'll have 60 points! and in 80 games he'll have 120!!! Totalling his share and Gonchar's who is out of commission? Does this mean he'll get 2 spots at the all star game?
babinator77
i missed the game but i'm glad to hear it was his best yet. markov was never one to jump out of the gates and we're only four games in. that's four consecutive games with a point? and +4?! not bad for a mediocre start. BriBri
Markov is so impressive... 6 points in 4 games, if he continues in that way he wil get 80 points at the end of the season... of course if he stays healthy...

Forget the points, he's just skating so well out there with the puck. He actually stickhandles better than some of our forwards.

I recall reading somewhere that Markov was initially a forward, that was converted to a D Man - pre his Habs days

I am not sure if it was something the Montreal organization had anything to do with, and I have no evidence/articles to back up my claim, but yeah... I had heard he was drafted as a forward, but then convereted to D. When, where, and why? Who knows?

Who knows? i'm almost positive the habs drafted him as a dman. it was a russian coach early in his career (17yrs old or something) that asked him if he could play d and then he made the switch. (from an old article that i can't find now). either way, he can play well at both ends of the ice.

Markie switched to make the team.

It ended up being a good decision! "Selected 1998 by Montreal round 6 #162 overall" What a steal! Whoa. I never realized he was drafted so far down the list. He could probably be considered for the best defenceman award this year (the name has slipped my memory).

And unless he completely blows the season (which I don't suspect he will), I'd be shocked if he weren't up for consideration.

ColRouleBleu
He has the same kind of season start as he had last year. Lets just hope that the November game against the Sabres wont be a repeat of last year's as well. I still have nightmares about it

babinator77
thanks crb! it made me psyched for the game. i hope it wakes the boys up and they play 60min as for markov, i hope he keeps improving and helps komisarek find his legs. ColRouleBleu
Meep Meep! Tanguay sure caught on fast on the consultant's lesson, and Markie remembered well too. 2 more points and +3 with not even 20 minutes played Smart move by Carbo to cut his ice time a bit today seeing how the yotes were out for blood in the second. Markov was invisible in a good way tonight
teststory
I noticed that Markov leads the team in points this season. I was surpized by that. After this game I'm not sure though as Koivu or Tanguay may be ahead of him. Markov always seems to get his points very quietly.
