tmash
I noticed that Markov leads the team in points this season. I was surpized by that. After this game I'm not sure though as Koivu or Tanguay may be ahead of him. Markov always seems to get his points very quietly. I know. He's just such a good breakout passer that we rarely even notice how important he is to many of the team's goals.
ColRouleBleu
Markov and Koivu are tied with 8 points, though Markov has no goal yet.
fourtrax
I know. He's just such a good breakout passer that we rarely even notice how important he is to many of the team's goals. I firmly believe that the NHL should start tracking breakout passes as a stat. IMO they're the most important but untracked stat in the game. They won't necessarily show up on the scoresheet unless the first passer gets an assist, but they are critical to starting the team's attack out of the defensive zone. ColRouleBleu
or they could give assists to everyone on the same team touching the puck without interception before it goes in

russianhabsfan
Well he's definitely in Norris trophy position right now. #1 in pts and #1 in +/- amongst all defensemen. (Komisarek is 2nd in +/- ) But it's been only 5 games, let's see 35 more and it'll be a much clearer image.
babinator77
excellent game last night. it was the game i've been waiting for - from the whole team in fact. (i missed the bruins game) his +/- stat is rivalling his point total. i love it!
brazinrasin
I know. He's just such a good breakout passer that we rarely even notice how important he is to many of the team's goals. I don't think we realize how fortunate we are to have a player of Markov's caliber to get our team out of our own end. With a team as quick as we are, the first pass is vital to using our speed to our advantage.

I think the first move would be to start by not jinxing him tonight oh dear...i'm going to the game too. maybe, in this case, two jinxes will bring us luck instead? I certainly do me too and we have last season's markov thread to prove it. woohooo! i hope to see another 60min effort like saturday's outstanding team performance. komisarek has found his legs and markov looks to be in fine form. the dynamic duo is looking good out there! ColRouleBleu
i'm getting jealous, are you going to all the games now? I'll try to throw in extra telepathy waves to counter the double jinx Cant wait to see Markie do his thing tonight, the Panthers is definitely one of the teams against which he usually plays great. Samething for Pleky and Kovalev, so it would be as good a night for them to get back on track with their 'super powers'
