Johnny_rudeboy
Looks like Wings will keep Hossa next season Link I would not keep Hossa for another season as it ties their hands Cap wise for signing their younger prospects; like Hudler. I think the Editor does need to check the player status. Hudler is an RFA so the Wings do not need to let him go. The Wings can make him a minimum offer or something more reasonable. If another team gives Hudler an offer sheet and they let him go then some draft picks will come their way.

Rumors are floating that Filppula is on the trade block which will free up 3 million. Samuellson will not be retained after this season, therefore leaving us 4.5 million in cap. The season after that Lidstrom contract will expire meaning 7.6 million will be freed up once more. The core is in place for the team so we don't got any major needs. We've got our young prospect goalie which will join us full time next year.

Lynch_mtl
LOL 8-0. Nashville. LOL. I have an odd feeling that Detroit isn't going to be a favorite for the cup next season, not just based on this game though. Their season has a much different tone, and it's not automatically a win for Detroit anymore. Not that they won't be favored, but their goaltending will see their path to the cup go down th drain. Lynch_mtl
8-2 against Columus. What is up with this team. I would much rather being a hab fan than a detroit fan right now, despite being in a race for a playoff spot. 2 games letting in 8 goals in 4 games. What a team... Johnny_rudeboy
Aside from goaltending with defencemen Chelios (over 45), Lidstrom (who turns 39 in April) and Rafalski (who turns 36 in September) I think the 82 game schedule is catching up with them. kovalev47
I think the Wings don't care much right now. They know it's playoffs that counts. They're saving their energy for the playoffs.
