Dintrox12
The forecast mags don't give the Avs much of a chance to make the playoffs. I think this team could surprise. they have some great young guns like stasny and wolski. They have some gritty leaders Sakic and Smyth (now Tucker?) . I think if Sakic and Smyth stay healthy (they average 70+ games but last year they each missed around 30) the Avs have a shot of a playoff birth. The big question is between the pipes: - Budaj and Raycroft both had poor performances last year.

koreysecord1992
Avs lock up their next captain (at least I 'm assuming he'll be a captain in the near future) http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=256313&lid...os=topStory_nhl 5 years$33 million. leafs_rock_go_mccabe
Hell be back for the playoffs, after that hes done most likely. Colorado is in real danger of missing the play-offs this year. They are only in 9th right now, and not having Sakic back for three months is going to hurt. I am surprised he's not calling it a career right now.

Johnny_rudeboy
Sakic has back surgery, will miss 10 weeks Sakic opted for back surgery to deal with his herniated disc. He had hoped rehab, including exercises to strengthen his core muscles, would get him back on the ice. That didn't happen, so surgery was the best step. It will keep him out of the line up for at least 10 weeks. The 39 year old hopes to be back playing for Colorado before the end of the season. Source: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=402730 It is only a matter of months I think before he will hang up his skates.

357908_1475251331
didn't colorado collapse last year around this time? what is with this team? it is not time to lose 5 in a row. Johnny_rudeboy
Injuries especially at centre have contributed to the collapse in Colorado. You can now add Ryan Smyth (the team's leading scorer) to that list as he has a broken hand. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=416364
