The flames are pathetic, Kipper is done. 6-0 in your season opener, what a lousy team.

Thank you for writing it, maybe you've done it each year since 2004. ;)

Even if Kipper plays a few bad games in a regular season, he's always one of the best in the win column at the end of a season, Yeah baby ! (Thank you Peter Maher LMAO).

That he is; he is currently leading the NHL in wins and is 3rd in the NHL in shutouts with 3 even though his GAA (28th in the NHL) and save percentage (32nd in the NHL) is not that good.

Calgary Flames General Manager Darryl Sutter announced today the recall of forward Mikael Backlund.

Backlund is coming off a silver medal at the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championships as a member of team Sweden, and was named as one of Sweden’s Top Three players in the Tournament.

Backlund finished tied for 2nd on the team with seven points (5+2), and tied for 7th overall in tournament scoring with five goals in six games.

This is Backlund’s second straight silver medal after finishing second at the 2008 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in the Czech Republic.

#60 MIKAEL BACKLUND - CENTER

BORN: Vasteras, SWE DATE: March 17, 1989

HEIGHT: 6’0’’ WEIGHT: 205 lbs.

SHOOTS: Left

HOW ACQUIRED: 1st round, 24th overall, in the 2007 Entry Draft

He was supposed to play in a WHL team first, I'm surprised but I'm very happy for him, he plays his first game in the NHL right now.

He's talented, one of the best players during world junior championships in 2008 and 2009.
