People are looking at the succes of Markov,Koivu and Tanguay so much that nobody even bother looking at Lang's stats. Some point during the season people are going to turn around and say where in the hell did this guy produce that much. :)

Really great to have this kind of talent in our team, couple of seasons ago he would have been our best player after Koivu.

If we didn't have Lang, Guy was going to experiment with other options like moving Sergei K to center or putting Higgins back there if there was an injury.

I think though, at the very least Chipchura would be playing and would probably end up on the second line before Lapierre.

Reading those alternatives, I'm just as thankful that we have Lang for depth.

Robert Lang has been an extremely pleasant surprise. At the time the news of Robert signing with the Canadiens, there were "reports" that he was soft, plays lazy, and that Chicago fans were happy to be rid of him. All of which, seems to be the opposite. He plays incredibly smart and is fun to watch. Keep doing what you're doing because you're definitely proving that you're proud to wear the CH.

And yes, you're right, "too bad for Mats".

Another great chance on a breakaway last night -- 6 points in 9 games is great for a 3rd-line center, but to think that he's not even burying all his chances makes me giddy with how good this guy has been for the team.

No doubt about it. Great 3rd line pick up and when he starts gellin, he'll have nicer hair than Kovalev :D

I sometimes wish Carbs would put him with Kovalev for a game or two just to see what happens. It may still be to early to change things up though and who knows what effect that might have on Pleks who is already having confidence issues. On the flip side Pleks might feel less preasure to produce if he has a more defensive role. It might even spark him to do better. I guess in the end it's up to the coach though. So far it seems he thinks it's better to stick it out and hope something good happens. It's still a shame that Carb seems reluctant to put these two together other then on 4 on 4 situations. I thought that they would be together at least on the powerplay. So far he has been playing with the Koivu unit though.

Lang really didnt do his job tonight. He went 2/12 in the faceoff circle :\ We need him to be a bit more consistent for us in that regard. He had a few quality chances, just would have liked to see a few more wins in the circle.

It really puzzles me that a team with coaches such as Carbonneau, Jarvis and Muller (all face-offs specialists), this team is struggling to take draws. Even more so that Lang had a very good face-off percentage last year...

Yep, Im not sure what the main focus is in practice, or if theyve tried to adjust the way he takes faceoffs this year. If so it might just be best to let him take them the way hes used to.Im sure theyll look to work on this in the big break coming up.

I don't believe he is in lazy mode lol. He hasn't been good at faceoffs, but he has been invloved in many scoring chances. Unfortunately he seems to be having some back luck finding the back of the net at the moment.

he gets a couple PP chances but generates nothing even strength

That not entirely true. I have seen him combine for some 5 on 5 chances. Other then that I believe he is also one of the top +/- players on the team. Generally he ends up with the third set of forwards. He would likely produce more if he had someone like Tanguay or Kovalev on his wing IMO. Still it's very early and we may yet see some good things from Lang/Sergei and whoever they play with.

this 3rd set of forwards stuff is crap, he and sergei dominated the first week of the season just flying out there but that has dropped off considerably

Lang hasnt impressed me since maybe the first 3 games? Hes missed too many ops, if you ask me, the second sundin sais he will come to montreal Lang is on his way to Hamilton, Sundin would make Sergei better again, Sundin SK and Lats would be a great line, 3 truly "first" lines.

Montreal fans are the worst in the league. We are one of the top teams in the league, and still you ***** and moan. Unbelievable.

Man , all i said was constructive critism, Lang was fast out of the gate and has slowed down, and he was the BACKUP plan, so if Sundin does want to come to the Habs, then its Lang thats out. How is that being a bad fan? Lang's face off % is horrible, these are stats, not just a fan that has it out for him

Can't disagree with this. Lang has definitely tailed off recently and his faceoff percentage is abysmal. He needs to get going again, because his decline certainly isn't helping a young player like Sergei who is also struggling.

He has however had opportunities to score and missed some open nets. It's also not easy for Lang as he's had multiple wingers and he's yet to develop any chemistry on his line.
