CANADIENS27
Michigan 42 Northwestern 24 despite three first half interceptions by Dennard Robinson and key penalties which negated big plays. Robinson will need to put together two solid halves of football since teams like Michigan State will make the Wolverines pay for their slow starts and the Spartans are next. CANADIENS27
Also Saturday, Ohio State picks that night to play both its best and worst halves of the season in a 34-27 loss to Nebraska at Lincoln. Ohio State led 27-6 after scoring early in third quarter before a fumble allowed the Cornhuskers to score the first of four touchdowns in the second half. The comeback was also the largest in Nebraska's history.

CANADIENS27
Penn State scores on a three yard run by Silas Redd with 1:08 left in the game to the Nittany Lions a 10-7 win over Illinois. The win moved Joe Paterno into first place ahead of longtime Grambling coach Eddie Robinson with 409 coaching victories. That win was not secure until Illinois kicker Derek Dimke's 42 yard field goal attempt hit the right upright on the game's final play.

CANADIENS27
Joe Paterno is likely out at Penn State due to an abuse scandal on the part of his former defensive coordinator. They will probably also be looking for a new president.

CANADIENS27
Paterno was essentially brought down by a culture of indifference, something to be expected when football is king.
Innis_Mor
Just got fired. JoePa's legacy is destroyed .... minced. There'll be a number by his name alright, but it won't be 408 wins, or the number of bowl wins, or the number of seasons coached in Division I. It'll be the number of different child sexual assault victims introduced to Sandusky after Paterno (et al) covered it all up (1998, or more expressly 2002). Some decisions are so important in life, and seemingly so tough, but they gotta be made. It's called moral duty; legally 'moral turpitude'. Sandusky's case still has to go to court, but have a read of the grand jury indictment: Sandusky indictment . One can see why the Trustees had to fire Paterno after reading it. I can't imagine McQueery survives 'till Saturday's game even. I expect he'll resign beforehand; there'll be a lot of pressure, including from Paterno's fans ("McQueery's fault for not going to the police himself, and getting Paterno in this boil"). These guys (no women so far) were all adults. I mean, someone's gotta stand up and say, "I'm not just gonna pass the buck in the circle here; this has got to stop." Well, apparently not at Penn State. It's gonna cost PSU millions in lost donors.
