captainjack22
It will be Dandy or chipchura, which are both bad ideas to give the ol' axe to, Dandy is a hard working utility player who has loads of experience and Chips well, if he dont get a spot on the team, then he might have enough rejection and move on. So why this is good news i have no idea
sach
dandenault seems to be the obvious choice to be moved over chipchura considering the age difference, but dan was a great utility player last year and he happens to have 3 rings of experience. madsprite18
Not a huge Dandenault fan but he has his moments, I believe Chipchura will be sent down because his contract will allow it but I don't believe he'll stay in Hamilton long.....he is too good. They'll make a final decision on someone like Dandenault or wait for injuries. They did the same last year with Lapierre and it certainly didn't hurt him any! Seven-Year-Itch
I think it will be Dandy, but it should be Latendresse...who gets traded/demoted
chromedome_mtl
I think it will be Dandy, but it should be Latendresse...who gets traded/demoted I might easily be tempted to agree with you on this because I'm not that confident that Gui will ever be much more than a so-so contributor, if that. However,as others have alluded to ,I think the organization(Mgmnt.,coaches, scouts, owners etc.)have the idea that Lats has big potential and ,that if this were to pan out,he could be a huge asset down the road.Dandy on the other hand, has pretty well reached the end of his tenure as a useful asset for this team. ChitownHabby
Anybody have any idea why Dandy is still on the team? He must be useful to somebody out there as a 6th d/12th forward. He can still skate and forechecks pretty well. I am not sure why someone like Atlanta, Florida or Phoenix wouldnt give away a draft pick for him. Like a 5th rounder. His experience would be good for a young team and he in my opinion is still an NHL calibre player. I kinda feel sorry for him. Chipchura, Stewart and Kostopolous all are better options for us at this point. Bob, let the poor guy go!
tmash
It surprises me that we still have Dandenault. Unless there is some sort of trade or plans for waivers in the works, Chipchura's fate is out of his hands.
Bourne
Definitely Dandenault will be leaving and to be honest I hope Chipchura is sent down to the minors and not left as a backup centermen on the roster. He might as well get a chance to play even if only in the minor leagues. I feel sorry for him however since had we not traded for Lang he was certain to run with that spot. I still believe a trade could be in the works and I wonder if it will involve one of our core roster players (Higgins)

Seven-Year-Itch
Higgy is staying--he is part of the core. I would hate to see him go, esp. when there are so many others that deserve to be traded
Flunky
It seems like Dandy is the odd man out. Too bad, 'cause I always liked him. I also think we can do better than a fifth round draft pick. He may not be a starter on our team, but he's a starter on most. And in the day of $3.75 million dollar Fingers, a veteran blueliner with a bargain basement pricetag and a one-year commitment will generate alot of interest. QbGamer
I say, if we cant make a trade for dandy, then Chips will be moved down http://thefourthperiod.com/news/mtl080919.html looking like dandy No thats just old news off of a interview.. The4thperiod is one of the worst sites for news, they come out with it, a few days later, and they juggle the quotes around to make it sound like what there talking about.. Not a fan of the site at all Dandy is worth something guys. Just because he doesnt fit into our Stacked lineup. Doesnt mean he isnt worth anything at all. The real concern for other teams, is that he didnt play Defence all of last year. I think that most teams would be looking @ him as a Defence / 2 way player. But mainly as a Defence if they were to make this trade.
flames4eva
The title of this thread sounds "terminal" It's fine to guess - tulate, But... What's the rush I say... I know alot of us have a hard time seeing certain individuals finding a place in the line-up, very understandable. Players like Dandenault or Chipchura, perhaps Bouillon and Lapierre could be candidates for being waivered, demoted or traded... who knows what BG is thinking really. Chips could still be a work in progress this season and start out in Hamilton (O'Byrne is another possibility for similar reasons) as did Lapierre last year, which is not the end of the world. What if... training camp is being viewed not only under the watchful eyes of BG & co. but by scouts from other teams as well... looking to add some depth to their team's roster? It's plausible IMO that BG may even have another trade option he is looking at that could involve almost any player being showcased during the pre-season. For now, I would accept Chips being sent back to Hamilton to start the season.
BarbraT
I actually like Dandy, but I feel like Carbo and Gainey don't. And if you don't impress those in high places....you might get the boot.

It is terminal for somebody. One way or the other BG has to make a move before the first regular game. I'm still very curious about those OTHER votes..... Would be great if whoever voted that way would tell us whom they beleive should be moved. I didnt want to post the whole lineup when i made the poll,, so i just added the players that i've seen discussed the most often in the forum. GoHabsGo9_mtl
The only reason I see for keeping Mathieu Dandenault is that we're expected to go deep in the playoffs and Dandy is a veteran with playoff experience. I think there's enough veterans now with Koivu, Kovalev, Lang, Hamrlik, Brisebois and more. So goodbye Dandy.
