Mn - The Countdown

GIJAYNE

Recommended Posts

MN Bonus available for 2008.11.07:

We should get at least 1 bonus.

...1 bonus - very likely - if any of the following 4 happen:

...... Boston loses to Toronto in regulation

...... NY Rangers vs Tampa game does not end with Tampa winning in OT/SO

...... Pittsburgh loses to Edmonton

...... Washington loses to Carolina

...2 bonuses - possible - if 2 of the following 4 happen:

...... Tampa loses to Rangers in regulation

...... Pittsburgh loses to Edmonton in regulation

...... Washington loses to Carolina in regulation

...... Philadelphia loses to Ottawa

MN pace - 2.7 (this is huge!) points per habs game

MN on Oct. 31 was - 141 (drop by 24 in 9 games, pace 2.67)

Current MN - 138 (drop by 3 in 1 games in November, pace 3.00)

Note, the pace of 2 MN points per habs game is the border line between playoffs and golf pastures. If the pace is higher then 2, the habs are heading to the playoffs. If it is less than 2, we are out. If it is exactly 2, it is a tie o break situation.

finally some bonus points with the tampa loss and the philly loss

You see there Choc..... we didnt need no T.O. win to get those bonus points. :P:lol:

I see. Everything is possible if you believe!

MN on Oct. 31 was - 141 (drop by 24 in 9 games, pace 2.67)

Current MN - 136 (drop by 5 in 1 games in November, pace 5.00)

Note, the pace of 2 MN points per habs game is the border line between playoffs and golf pastures. If the pace is higher then 2, the habs are heading to the playoffs. If it is less than 2, we are out. If it is exactly 2, it is a tie break situation.

Geez...I leave for a few days and this thread is DEAD!

Thanks for keeping the numbers updated choc.

Finally some hockey tonight. I haven't had the guts to look at the rest of the schedule for the year, but I sure hope this was the second and LAST time the boys have anything more then 2/3 days off. I just can't function on this stingy hockey diet. :P

You think you're on a stingy hockey diet...

Try living over here in la-la land. I've seen only one Habs game this season. That's all that has been broadcast to date. If I were a Pens fan, I'd be in piggy heaven... 10 games; Rags have had 9 games shown, as have the Hawks. You'd be very ticked off as a Buffy fan - no games shown and none scheduled to the end of November. At least I'll get 4 this month.

...and yes, I am keeping score and have sent grumpy e-mails to NASN, the exclusive broadcaster of NHL in Europe.

On the positive side, I am a Habs fan and I like it. (I don't know if anyone else is feeling this way, though: I've totally avoided other areas of the Fan Forum as I don't think I can cope with, what I assume is, an over exhuberance of bandwaggoning. Is this the case or am I being silly).

I dunno to be honest. I haven't updated my stuff since the weekend I had asked choc to update them, and I'll get my images up and running tomorrow morning...that is if I'm not lost in the black hole which is my life lately...again .... :P

AN OK FAILIURE

To the intense competitor, the above statement may seem paradoxical; however a team that plays 82 games in a season is bound to make blunders, and I’m willing to accept gaffes as long as they are less ghastly than the previous error.

In our case, following our last long break we came out playing at the intensity level of the girls scout district 36 pink (a.k.a. the unicorns) hockey team. We dropped our first loss in regulation to Anaheim and hung our heads in shame.

Last night we were faced with a similar challenge to that game and I thought we played a lot better in that we were sharper….still as dull as a pair of fisher price set of play-dough scissors, but sharper. We played better than the Anaheim game and we got 1 more point than we did in our previous “long break” test. So I’ll grudgingly take it and stick it in the bank (my investment statement is above showing a sweet 135…about as many dollars left in my investment portfolio. But jokes on the MN, my portfolio value is dropping faster than it is so I’ll definitely win the race to 0 first.)

ya gotta take them when they are given.

if anything, pleks kept his streak going and the boys showed that 3 offensive lines can work once said lines are fine tuned.

w00t for the drop!

But are they? Not in my opinion :o

I'll take the point and would like to make a point... Halak was once again less than stellar IMO and the forwards were caught up ice a little to often for my liking. It was good to see the 4th line playing the way they did... they impressed me the most.

I unfortunately ( or maybe fortunately) i missed last nights game totally. Glad to hear our 4th line was kicking butt. Isnt Laraque on that line HHN??? :P:lol::lol:

Last night definitely doesnt rate right up there with one of our stronger efforts. We looked flat at times and rusty at others. Hammer's presence was really missed out there. Its a long season though and those nights will happen. We'll get em next time. ;)
