A loss to Ottawa tonight (and especially because it was against Carolina) is, probably, a last nail in their coffin for this season.

MN Bonus available for 2009.03.26:

...1 bonus - if Florida loses to Philadelphia

A loss to Rangers (vs Atlanta) is a potential bonus in the future.

MN drop pace - 2.05 points per habs game

Record - 73-37-27-9 (g-w-l-ol),

........... - 83-67-150 (points-bonuses-MN drop)

MN on Oct. 31 was - 141 (October record 9-7-1-1, 15-9-24, pace 2.67)

MN on Nov. 30 was - 111 (November record 14-6-5-3, 15-15-30, pace 2.14)

MN on Dec. 31 was - 82 (December record 13-8-3-2, 18-11-29, pace 2.22)

MN on Jan. 31 was - 56 (January record 13-7-6-0, 14-12-26, pace 2.00)

MN on Jan. 31 was - 32 (February record 14-6-7-1, 13-11-24, pace 1.71)

Current MN - 15 (March record 10-3-5-2, 8-9-17, pace 1.70)

Note, the pace of 2 MN points per habs game is the border line between playoffs and golf pastures. If the pace is higher than 2, the habs are heading to the playoffs. If it is less than 2, we are out. If it is exactly 2, it is a tie break situation.

*head scratching*

What name might that be, HTL?

Um ... er ...

:P:lol::lol:

Here's my new theory,,,and i'm sticking to it. :D

The reason we lost to those pig farmers last game is quite simple. The boys were hoping those guys would hang in there long enough so that we could officially end their season in front of their fans in Hogtown in the last meeting.

April 4th will be the last game i see before i leave for my yearly Vegas trip, and its simply a going away treat for me. :D

Buffalo is standing on a 2 bonuses way. But if cats (CennerHice is not included) lose in regulation tonight, we can get the second bonus tomorrow (at the expense of HTL' feelings) if Buffalo loses to Toronto.

We'll get it the next day when we dull the Sabres on our own. ;)

No bonus points but the O.T. point makes up for it.For the first time in a long time i'm happy to say,,,,WE DOMINATED TONIGHT :D

Word is that Ramo was immediately rushed to the hospital after the game for emergency surgery to have that horseshoe removed.

This ^ (one post above) and this ^^ (two posts above).

HTL, this is another one - Montreal got 2 points and it took 2 points off the MN AND 2 another points off the MN TO-NO-GO!

MN is 13 now.

Choc,,,,,i honestly beleive if the Habs hired you to go into the dressing room everyday to make the players understand the point value of every game with your analysis,,,,,that we would be clinching at the end of April every year. ;)

P.S. Stay away from the ACC though. We don't want to be providing any added ammunition over there.

Na-a, I honestly believe, they would clinch it much earlier just to do not hear all this crap. But you don have any choice and has to read it everyday before you escape to your Sin city:

You have the games mixed up in your bonus analysis Choc....

The Buffalo game is the bonus game tomorrow ;)

You are correct and you see, you have to read it! I updated the statistics first and then forgot to update the analysis itself.

Correction - there are no bonuses available for Friday. Most likely there will not be bonuses till Florida loses.

Nevertheless a loss to Buffalo will increase chances for future bonuses (after Florida loses).

Our Remaining Schedule ( highlited games are on the road)

March 2009

Sat Mar 28, 2009 Sabres Canadiens

Tue Mar 31, 2009 Blackhawks Canadiens

April 2009

Thu Apr 2, 2009 Canadiens Islanders

Sat Apr 4, 2009 Canadiens Maple Leafs

Mon Apr 6, 2009 Senators Canadiens

Tue Apr 7, 2009 Canadiens Rangers

Thu Apr 9, 2009 Canadiens Bruins

Sat Apr 11, 2009 Penguins Canadiens

We have 8 games remaining ( 4 home and 4 away)

We need 13 more MN points to make the playoffs.

Assuming we dont get any more bonus points ( unlikely),,,

then we need 7.5 wins to do it on our own.

My feelings are that we need points in the next 5 games for sure,,, otherwise the pressure on the last 3 will be brutal. ;)

Seing as the MN does not take into consideration any tie breaking procedures,, i thought i would post the criteria in the event of a tie...

1. Greater number of games won by the club.

2. Higher number of points earned in games against each other.

3. The greater differential between goals scored for and against for the entire regular season.
