Thank you Larry for recommending this....I checked the link out, only one familiar song on it that I recognize,I have 5 disks of the Doors/Jim Morrison.....never came across this one.

I will most difenitly pick up a copy of AN AMERICAN PRAYER....tks. <img src="http://fans.canadiens.nhl.com/community/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

An American Prayer has long been my favorite Morrison work, (next to his books). I liked Morrison before I heard of that album, after..I Idolized him as mush as Lennon, Dylan and Hendrix!!

Anyone who is not familar with his books, check them out!!!

The Lords And New Creatures by Jim Morrison

The American Night: The writings of Jim Morrison Vol I & II by Jim Morrison

The American Night books were actually the scraps of Jim's writing's that Pam Corson's parents found after her death (Jim's girlfriend) and published because they wanted to allow the world to share these great poems and prose.

I have all three books. They were about as wild as it gets, but also so good in their structure.

I just got the news today - guess who's back into the recording studio?

The one and only Chicago!!!

http://www.undercover.fm/news/12946-video-chicago-back-in-the-studio-with-phil-ramone

They are recording another Christmas album. Now if we could get them to record some new material without the shackles commercial radio and the record companies put on them - play it safe, no musical chances like Stone of Sisyphus (get this one everyone, it is modern Chicago at its best). I would love to see one last album of new material with all kinds of daring, like they did in their early days, but also adapt new and modern sounds to it. When given the chance, Chicago has never been afraid to show off their awesome musical chops.

Can't say I care about the Grammys but I'm quite happy for Arcade Fire winning album of the year (even if it's weaker than their previous records)! And Win & Regine thanked Montreal & Quebec for being their home. I still think Bell Centre should be playing "Wake Up" every time the Habs are losing.. or going to PP :D

Pretty sad state of affairs when a 67 year old man steals the show and shows the youngans how its done LOL

World champion poker player and now the Grammy Best Album Award winning band!! Montreal showing the world. :D

Shame one of the group didn't wear a Habs Jersey up on to that stage. :D

Most enjoyable bit is reading all the Gaga and Perry and Eminem fans putting the hate on Arcade Fire rock. :P

Reminds me of telling people that Prefab Sprout have always been one of my 5 favourite bands. 30 years and they have not been moved out of that top 5 for me.

("Who's Prefab Sprout?" people ask me. )

(Who's Arcade Fire?) :D

Well, they're opening for U2 in Moncton in August!! (Lucky Maritimers!)

Paying yet another early morning tribute to the recently departed musical mad man that was Captain Beefheart...this time with a little black coffee and Trout Mask Replica.

Hey, I need yalls opinion on this.

A friend of mine and I got in a rather heated argument about rock n' roll today. He said that the most influential person in rock history was Elvis, but I strongly (hence the heated part of the argument) disagreed. I feel that the most influential rock band ever if far and away the Beatles.

What do you guys think?

Never was a fan of neither of those two you mentioned, though I'm am into Lennon,Harrison & Starr when they ventured out solo acts.

Between those two, I'd say the Beatles. But I'd put more emphasis on George Martin than the band itself.

Did you mean George Harrison?

Elvis was kinda like Justin Bieber, but good. The Beatles were much more influential. Look at any drummer, guaranteed one of his influences is Ringo. Just like Paul, George, and John. Look at their sales, their songbook, the influence they still have today with several teenagers listening to beatles music.

Thank you. :) I tried to say that before, but noooooo, he has to listen to you and not me

Another interesting thing I saw a friend of mine is that Sir Paul McCartney is probably the most recognized name/face worldwide. I tried to refute it, but I couldn't think of anyone else. I mean, if I say to someone "Sir Paul McCartney," the may not know where he is from, but they have almost definitely heard the name. Vice Versa applies for the face. Recognition at the least.
