To the Habs and their awesome, devoted fans on this forum …. wishing you many W's and few L's.

I am putting my money on your team to win Stanley this season but don't tell my bruin buddies, they desperately need my support because there are only 14 of us in Ontario. (tee hee)

I was lucky to get Plekanec and Markov in my office hockey pool, I won it last year, no pressure!!

Looking forward to reading/chirping along with you all !

Classy Post.

Boy I don't know about Lats being on the same line with Tangs and Koivu I think Higgins already has good chemistry with Koivu so why put two guys on a line with him that have no chemistry. Hmmm not sure about that. I really don't know who is the lesser of the two evils Bris-by or Dandy. I'm ok with Dandy playing forward but not too excited about him on D so I guess I would go with Bris-by.

Don't know if you guys saw this yet, (I posted it in Lat's thread as well).

Latendresse is replacing Higgins on Koivu-Tanguay line: http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/261196.html

Personally, I'm realy interested to see what he can do with these guys.

I sorta am too but not if it means that Higgins is not playing because of injury.

I think it's better that Latendresse plays on Koivu's line because the third line doesn't have as much speed as the first two...Lang and Latendresse aren't the fastest guys on the team and that might reduce Sergei's productivity somewhat...It would be interesting to see what Higgins Lang and Sergei K. would be able to do as a line.

I think there's a misconception on how Latendresse has to play...his game is to use his size and skill to his advantage yet we all want him to play the finesse game. If Latendresse can become the power forward that the club has long been waiting for, it's his time now...he's had two years experience and with this being his contract year he has to prove to the direction that he wants to be with this team for a long time.

Latendresse on the 2nd Line is a good thing. Latendresse scored most his goals along with Koivu. With Tanguay in the mix, I see good things happening. Higgins (if he plays) brings a defensive touch on the 3rd line. It balances the 2nd and third line IMO. Higgins and Sergei showed great chemistry. Latendresse playing on the 2nd line doesn't mean he's better than Higgins.

Also IMO, Latendresse was one of the fastest skater agaisnt the wild. I really like the way he played that night.

I'd much prefer to see Lats on the third line....for now... nothing against him...I really like the guy and i think he has awesome potential and I truly believe that this could be his make or break year with us (wife gets pissed off when I call the Habs..."us".. as if I'm part of the team). A bit of enthusiasm, heart and hard work and he should be fine- gotta earn his spot on the second line. He's able to do it.

It seems fairly obvious to me that most people have misunderstood the article that was posted about Gui.replacing Higgins. It clearly means that Gui.will replace Higgins on that line if Chris is injured and cannot play.I haven't heard anything about an injury that Higs has other than the groin thing he had before.Maybe he re-injured it when he played the other day?In any case,it seems like people are reading more into this than there probably is?

the last 4 stanley cup champs has been something like a combined 34-4-4 in the month of October (according to hardcore hockey talk on the score)....LET'S START STRONG!!!

GO HABS GO!

Whoa. Crazy stat. That comes out to roughly 11-1-1 on average per team. We only play 9 regular season games in October so it's probably too much to ask to win ten of them, eh? ;)

Either way, one good reason to come flying out of the gate. Also, I think it's about the Habs asserting their position in the Conference. I cringe when I think of our record against Florida last year, losses to Tampa Bay, etc. We won great games against upper-level teams but we sometimes struggled against those below us. Everyone's equal right now so it's all about where we want to be.

When I wake up, it will be:

3 long workdays

2 more sleeps

1 great (highly anticipated) game

GO HABS GO!
