leafsbaby08
The boys can NOT take this game lightly. This year's version of the Laffs are not the pushovers people are making them out to be. They may not have a whole lot of individual skill but what they do have alot more of than most teams IMO is the desire to win. Play like we did last night and we lose 4-0. If we match tempo with them, we lose 4-2. If we play to our potential, we win 4-1. Work hard tonite boys, you're gonna need it.

They'll be preparing Stanley Cup plans... They were doing that after beating detroit - one caller in radio show called in laughing that leafs on schedule to win 82 games and score 246 goals. was pretty funny. But they are not expecting much - but I think they will win enough games to mess up top 3 picks. They played like a team and were rewarded - if they keep it up they will be in all the games - maybe not win.
coryc
Best case scenario for us is that the Leafs become competitive enough to finish 9th in the east this year. That would rock! russianhabsfan
Big game tonight even though it's early. We picked up the single point last night, and we're hungry for the full two now. I think this is a great opportunity to do so, and I have confidence in Jaroslav Halak tonight. Last season we went 4-4 against the Leafers and it would be nice to win the season series again. I hope we win this one by a lot so we can silent Toronto fans about how they won their first game. Lets ruin their home opener and get out to an early lead. I'm really excited about this game, but nervous as always when we face the Leafs. It seems like we usually beat the good teams, but when it comes to teams that don't seem close to us on paper, we let them slip by. I predict a 4-2 victory for us tonight. GO HABS GO! No offense scott, but I find it ridiculously funny how every game there's someone out there that finds reasons why "THIS" game is "THE BIG GAME"... I agree with 31Caryprice31: 5-2 Habs. Flying_Lion
Theoretically this game should be a cake walk. With such a small, uneducated Toronto team we should be able to beat them in pretty much every aspect of the game. I hope we get our passing game together and blow them outta the water. I have found that recently, when considering Habs-Leafs matchups, theory goes out the window. I imagine it will be a tight game; that's how they all seem to go between us lately. As much as I want to see the Team skate circles around them and force the Leafs to dress a third goalie, I'm expecting to have to keep all bathroom breaks to TV timeouts for the full 60 minutes. Making passes on the tape will be key. As will keeping the puck down low and on net as much as possible. Either way, it's going to be a good one. That much, I think, is guaranteed. GO HABS GO! I agree with 31Caryprice31: 5-2 Habs. It's the beginning of the season,it's crucial to get many wins as possible in the beginning, not to find ourselves playing catch-up in January,so all our games become big games,in my opinion. Ryanww
I'm gonna go ahead and say 3-2 habs win. I think it will be 3-0 habs then they will almost blow it in the 3rd.. but barely hang on to win it in the dying seconds. Just my prediction. If I'm right, someone's buying me a pizza. You know how it is... leaf fans act like they are getting top corner shots whenever someone flips it at the net. And then the annoying ones that stand infront of the camera... hey buddy, I don't want to see your bald spots when I'm trying to watch the game... site down and shut up, leafs suck. Flunky
Wow. Some real insight into tonight's game in these posts. Let me try: GO TEAM GO! I mean, what about Grabvoski? He looked pretty good in the opener, playing on a line with Hagman and Tlusty. It should be interesting to watch him play the team he couldn't make. How about any last minute updates on Laracque, Higgins, Bouillon, Carle. Anybody know who's definitely in and who's out? The Leafs website chatroom has a thread entitled "Lose-Lose Situation", where the poster complains that even if they win, Habs fans will says it's because they started the back-up goalie, and if they lose, well then they can't even beat the back-up goalie. Now that's funny!

Now that's funny! Grabs actually is their first line center and played well against the dead things. back checking and playing a good defensive game. I think he will be the most nervous leaf out there tonight. But he has started out very well.
sach
we got rid of Grabovski because he couldnt win a draw to save his life, he was so weak on the puck, and he really just couldnt get anything done out there. if he magically finds all those things in Toronto well good for him
habsfan512
I saw part of the game and he was skating like we all know he can but was actually being defensively responsible. Of course the Red Wings did not play well at all - seemed to take them too lightly - hopefully that does not happen to us go habs

I will admit that his line was pretty good against detroit. but that shouldnt stop our Habs from winning, Go Habs Go!!!!!!!
