Game 3 of the World Series between Kansas City and New York Mets shifts to Citi Field tonight at 8:00 P.M. Yordano Ventura starts for Kansas City against Noah Syndergaard for New York. For the Mets to have a chance to mount a comeback, they will need to effectively mix in off speed pitches with the fastball and obviously move their pitches around. Even get the Royals to chase pitches out of the zone.

Kansas City 7 New York 2 12 innings. Kansas City scores five times in the top of the 12 inning to win the series 4-1. A single and a stolen base by pinchrunner Jayson Dysson and bases clearing double highlighted the inning. The Royals tied the game in the ninth taking advantage of another defensive lapse by the Mets. Lorenzo Cain walked and stole second and scored on a double by Eric Hosmer who moved to third on a groundout. Salvador Perez sent a chopper to thirdbaseman David Wright fielded the ball wide of the bag and his attempt to look Hosmer back who prove futile. Hosmer took off for home when Wright fired to first and Lucas Duda's throw sailed off the mark. Kansas City's bullpen once again shut down the Mets over the final six innings. New York also hurt itself in the sixth loading the bases with no out, but getting only one run.

Kansas City trailed by at least 2 runs in seven of its 11 post season games and trailed in all five games against the Mets. The Royals won three games in which they trailed in the eighth inning or later, a first in postseason play. They also became the first team since the 1939 Yankees to win the clinching game when trailing by two runs in the ninth inning or later. The Mets had no answer for Kansas City's speed.
