kinot-1
I just seen on T>S.N. that Kim St. Pierre was in goal for the Habs practice while Price is recovering from the flu. I don't know how to link ,so this is what is said. "MONTREAL - Kim St-Pierre has made another breakthrough - playing in goal at a Montreal Canadiens practice. The 29-year-old goaltender for Canada's national women's team was called in when goalie Carey Price missed practice for a second straight day with a flu. She was on the ice for the full 90 minutes and did not look out of place as the NHL players fired pucks at both her and back-up goalie Jaroslav Halak through a succession of drills. Some players took some speed off their shots early on, but Alex Kovalev whistled a wrist shot past her ear and Francis Bouillon nearly got her in the mask with a slapshot. "I'm so glad I came because it was such an experience," said St-Pierre. "It's so different. "They're so powerful. Their quick release is amazing. I wasn't scared. I was just so into it. It was my dream to play in the NHL and now I know it's not possible, but just to practice with them is something to cherish." St-Pierre is a two-time Olympic gold medallist who plays for the Montreal Stars of the National Women's Hockey League. In 2003-04, she played for McGill University's men's varsity team and became the first woman goalie to win a regular season CIS game in a 5-2 victory over Ryerson on Nov. 15, 2003" I didn't know Carey had the flu. Innis_Mor
Great story! Another class act on the part of the Habs (and well done, as well -- low key, not over the top, don't overblow the whole thing), in their Centennial season. This organization really has it together. Rocket-1
Good for her, and great idea by the canadiens.
animerules1x3
Very interesting idea by the Habs' brass. I wonder if it was an isolated practice or if there might be more. Anyways, it's great to give that kind of experience to local players and St-Pierre definitely deserves it.
hg_robs
Kinda reminds me of when the Canucks had that 3rd string College goalie sit on the bench when they couldnt get there 3rd goalie for a game! Still classy move.

RadioHab
What an awsome organisation to let a world class female tender come in and practice with them. She totally deserved the oportunity having represented Canada so well over the years. I am super happy for her. This is one of those things that make me proud o be a Habs fan. CareyPrice31
Absolutely classy of the Habs to let her practice with them. I like to see these kinds of opportunities for women, even if we cannot play in the NHL. P.S. Get well soon, Carey!
AntiLeaf33
Makes sense for the Habs to invite her to practice. They almost have a full week off, and there is no point in messing around will calling Denis up, making him clear waivers, only to practice with the team. LeafHater
well i know they had a goalie on those lesson shows they have on RDS (forgot what they're called sorry) i'm assuming it was her (i'm pretty sure it was actually) so maybe after seeing her and since price is sick they decided to call her in for a practice. i heard her on the radio on the way home from work and she said she was super excited and she really really wanted to stop Kovalev but that he was too quick and sharp lol she also said she'ld have a next time so she could hopefully stop it then. I bet that was the experience of a life time!

Jason-Lorette
That's cool...and the fact that Carbo was impressed enough to say she'd be back if they are ever short again is cool.
357908_1475251331
my only question is: would this have happened if she were oriental and/or not quite so qorgeous?
babinator77
my only question is: would this have happened if she were oriental and/or not quite so qorgeous? i don't think it has anything to do with her race or looks but rather that she's a two time Olympic gold medalist and a five-time world champion with Canada's women's team...
