Pleks will finally get a couple of points in a game. I thought he scored when he took the nice feed from Andrei Kostitsyn last night. I heard the post but thought it was the good post noise but instead the puck when over the glass. Pleks will get it going and why not start against the lowly Islanders.

Haha. i also thought pleks scored on that shot, i was watching rds and can't understand french all that well, so i couldn't understand why it didn't count... haha

To keep him fresh and increase his trade value - both extremely important objectives. Price played two good games so give him a break.

We should be able to win either way.

Price should play to stay fresh, we have almost a week off after this game, price will get his rest

I hope that we totally destroy them and that Streit is a -8 on the night.

Wow... Everybody hates him now, or what??

I'm all for the Habs too and I hope they win the cup, but this game, I am mainly for Streit. I hope he will prove you all wrong.

I don't expect him to win the game for the Isles (that's just unrealistic they way they are playing at the moment) but I hope he

plays the same way he did in the last four games... that's good enough any night.

Can't wait for this one. Hopefully it will be a stress free occasion and an exciting game with a little back and forth to keep it interesting. I'm not going to assume an easy win, just as I don't want our players to assume an easy win. Looking for a display of work ethic and awareness in both ends. Would be nice to see something from Plekanec, Higgins and the Kostitsyns tonight.

Go Habs Go!

....call me crazy, but I've got a bit of a bad feeling about tomorrow night. Something tells me the Habs will feel a tad overconfident, and the Isles might want to take their anger out on somebody. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Overconfident??? With the way they've been playing, they should be over-embarassed. Hey, maybe we'll give the Islanders 11 power plays, right?

My prediction this game: Habs play sloppy and soft, take more penalties than their opponent, get outshot, and hope that their goalie can steal the game for them.

My prediction next game: Habs play sloppy and soft, take more penalties than their opponent, get outshot, and hope that their goalie can steal the game for them.

(repeat and fade)

I really hope that isn't the case, but nothing has been put out there to show that it won't be. I had to laugh at the predictions, but please no.

Habs win 5-0!

Goals by Plekanec, Andrei Kostitsyn, Koivu, Lang and Higgins.

Price will have a quite night for once facing less then 20 shots.

So, what your saying is

a night for all the snake bitten goal scorers with the exception of koivu.

Even though New York is the leagues worst team, I don't think this will be a cake walk. They are not as bad as their record shows.

we just got to go in there tonight play simple and get the job done. the isles are a team that wait for turnovers so just have to make smart simple plays

It is time for Montreal to destroy another team. Keep the players going for more goals no matter how big a lead we get against the pathetic Islanders.

I think Price will get the start. But with the big break until the next game and the fact that the Islanders suck pond water I would not be shocked if Halak gets the start.

7-1 win (Price) or 6-2 win (Halak) for Montreal. My guess.

End of the road trip it is very possible that Montreal will be 10-1-1 (Islanders, Blue Jackets, Laffs). Now that is a nice start to the season. Points early in the season make getting into the playoffs a lot easier in Feb/March. Easier to get to first in the East for two straight years.

we have already destroyed the leafs a few weeks back, blow out games are gonna be rare

I don't hate the guy but when he turns his back on the only team that gave him a chance - otherwise he would be playing in the Swiss league. He himself said that's where he would be but for the organization having faith in him.

No Jynx I didn't use the key word..

Just wait and see.. Its not even only about how bad they are its also about how good we have been against them in the last few years.

Begin, LAraque and O'Byrne in, Kostopoulos, Dandenault and Brisebois out

http://blogues.cyberpresse.ca/gagnon/?p=70313698

I'm really surprised to see Kostpoulos out, I tought he had a great start of the season so far

 not happy with Kostop being out.

Anyways if this isn't the easiest game for the Habs this year I don't know what is. This is the worse team in the NHL (called it before the season started).

I can't really wish Danis any luck though...but if Isles score any goals let's hope it is our ex SWISS Mark Streit ;)

GO HABS GO!!!!

Habsinsideout is reporting that Breezer, Kosto, and Dandy are out in favor of Begin, Laraque, and O'Byrne.

I absolutely hate this move. B, K, and D played solid games on Thursday night and their reward is the bench? Why? So Steve Begin can take penalties at the worst possible times while failing to generate the energy for which he's supposedly known? So O'Byrne can conduct another seminar in his long-running series How To Ice The Puck For Absolutely No Reason? So Georges Laraque can protect us from such pugilistic heavyweights as Bill Guerin, Bruno Gervais, and Richard Park?

I simply don't understand how you dismantle the fourth line after it played such a solid game against Minnesota.

The Islanders are coming into this game on a six-game losing streak and missing three of their starting defensemen. This is exactly the kind of team you want to victimize with a strong, speedy forecheck, the kind that Kosto-Lapierre-Dandy used to great effect against the Wild. Neither Begin nor Laraque is a speedy player. And in fact, that fourth line was an absolute disaster against Anaheim, getting caught deep in the offensive zone for at least one goal against and taking penalties against the Ducks's top players.

I know it doesn't sound like much -- it's only the fourth line after all -- but coaching is all about details.

Ah...no Kostopoulos? :(

He's one of the best on the PK too...but well, that line is on rotation so c'est la vie. Dandy was ok until he did that really stupid meaningless penalty. I'm still angry at him  Just hope the team takes to heart what Carbo told them: stay out of the box, don't underestimate the Captain Highliners, and...don't let Streit fire from the point! ;D

Maybe Carbo is going to shorten the bench. The top lines should be able to manhandle the pathetic Islanders. And then when Montreal is up by 3 or more goals the 4th liners would get some regular shifts.
