Bumblebee_mtl
Note: lol... the ice has deteriorated so much that it's coming apart in chunks ^^;;; They asked D'ag how the ice was and couldn't repeat what he said on-air, if you get my drift... js2
Bulldogs played a pretty good first period and they forgot they had to play two more periods. What a terrible game overall. No one was working for the puck and constantly losing it in the neutral zone because of pure laziness.
Bumblebee_mtl
Yup, pretty much. heh... "C'est le but! Yanick Lehoux!" made me laugh though. Also (from what I heard on the radio broadcast) Weber's hard shot nearly took off the Aeros goalie's arm (didn't go in though, was saved by a defenseman). The kid is scary with that shot.... habskw
How did you like it??? Too bad it was a loss!! Other than the loss, and a crappy drive down Hwy 8 from KW in the rain and fog, it was fun. Great atmosphere, lots of fun little promotions, shame more people don't come out. Have to agree with js2's assessment of the game. The Dogs came out looking good, they missed a bunch of open net type chances in the first period (no offence to Chris, but it felt like they had a bunch of Higgins on the ice, lol). After that, completely downhill. The Aeros play like the Wild (not unexpected), clog the lanes, etc. We got outhustled, beat to the puck in the corners. Haven't seen that many fanned shots, pucks rolling off sticks, terrible passing ... in a long time. Ice might have had something to do with it, but it didn't seem to effect Houston as much. Not many players really stood out for me, though I liked what I saw from Weber, Desharnais. Hard to explain, but Chips feels more like an NHL-er out there, even if his play in this game didn't have a huge impact. Steward, D'agostonin, Maxwell, Trotter all seemed so-so, off their game. Patches also seemed a little lost at times, holding back. Not really many good solid hits from anyone - in fact, a guy behind me yelled "what is this - hockey lite?" a few times. Had to agree.
