Innis_Mor
This is a new week and hopefully a new beginning of the winning sort - err, winning the battles in all aspects. First and foremost; if we don't find a way to make the PP click, we are going to see much of the same - waiting for a break and playing catch-up all evening. Keep it simple and forget about the individual efforts - play as a team. There used to be a 'new' hero on any given night. Bring that game back to where it once was. Ya gotta have heart now let's tick and click! GO HABS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The hero tonight would / could be an early goal, for an early 1-0 lead. I hope it happens. Habs are 0.875 when scoring the first goal of the game and 1.000 when leading after the first and 1.000 when leading after the second. Best in the league in all 3 stats. I guess we are good at keeping our leads this year. What we are having trouble doing is actually getting the lead.

There's no doubt a run of bad luck is part of their problem, and has to turn for the better soon. But there's also no doubt that the skaters aren't moving their feet like they can -- Carbo's "new for 2008-09" Atom House League breakout is not helping that. The sooner that thing gets shelved, the better.

The sooner that thing gets shelved, the better. We only play when we are in the lead or tied. When we are losing, we don't skate/pass/shoot/score; that's a mentality the Habs have to change. And whoever scores the first goal is basically whoever comes out the hardest, shooting the most, but there's a bit of luck too. The first goal of a Habs game is the game winning goal, so here's to hoping the Habs score the first goal! GO HABS GO
babinator77
habsinsideout.com says Price is starting and Carbo is going with the same roster that won last night... no surprise... Here's hoping for our best game of the year... even better than the St-Louis one! a loss would be semi-disastrous. a win would do wonders. go habs go!!! man, it's a wild ride being a habs fan. Shane-Penney
As funny as it sounds, this could be the most important game of the year up to this point. Don't just end the losing streak, obliterate it. They need to win tonight. I'm saying it will be 5-3 for the Habs. They'll come out big and play a bad third period. HABFANDOG
definatley have to get the PP going. hit the net boys. not going to score if we can't hit the net. A. Kosti seemed to be a lil better in St Louis
2VP
no surprise... man, it's a wild ride being a habs fan. It's crazy. The media set too high of expectations, and I got sucked into thinking that the Canadiens are unbeatable. They are not, and by looking at their record on paper, are on pace for the playoffs. BigBADHabs
I'm not feeling very confident today I see a 3 -1 loss only cause I think the confidence is off a little they keep trying to make nice passes and nice plays and the pucks keep hitting other players, I think going back to basics is the only way to start winning and playing like we all know they can
KRod
I believe I shall drink myself into oblivion if we lose again. Might only be milk that I'm drinking, but when it hits you, it hits you hard!

They are not, and by looking at their record on paper, are on pace for the playoffs. what gets me is that i never even bought into the media-hype (though i definitely enjoyed it ) - remember, these are the same guys who a year ago thought we wouldn't make the playoffs (at least they were right about how important kovalev is to this team ). i figured with a year's worth of experience and some great additions, of course we'd be better but we're not nearly as good as we were last year...so far. not even twenty games into the season we're sitting alright, imho: we're fifth in the conference with a game in hand on washington and pittsburgh, two on boston and five on the rangers. all is not lost if and when they start to play like they know they can. i just need a break from facing teams i hate (who knew i hated so many though... )
xxfannyxx
he cant be kicking them down all the time...they fought back for the win...take it as it is...everyones just too hyped over last year and all the media have put so much pressure on this team...last year they were expected to be 11th they ended up 1st...just let em get their groove back...no it wasnt the best game technically, but mentally they didnt give up...dont forget they were down 2-1 in saturday and couldnt come back...6-1 to boston before that...so mentally that st. louis game may have been their best game...because they showed to themselves that they can come back they are able to get the goals and not everything has to be pretty for them to win...lets hope they build off that win and come out with some gusto... GO HABS GO!! yeah but actually, he said they played one of their best games, that's bugging me. I know he can't put his players down in front of everyone all the time but hey, I just hope he hasn't told them that everything's fine but anyways, I'm confident for tonight GO HABS GO!! Kosti seemed to be a lil better in St LouisYes, we are a dismal 0-20 in that department in the last 4 games. Let's face it: teams are gearing for us this year. Clog up the Habs speed and take away the stretch pass and neutralize them. The team just cannot addapt to the trap thus far for whatever reason(s). If they move their feet and regain that confidence anything can happen.
gracie12
Accoring to TSN these will be the lines for tonight: Projected Lines vs. Hurricanes Forwards: Tanguay - Koivu - Kovalev Higgins - Plekanec - Kostopoulos A. Kostitsyn - Lang - S. Kostitsyn Latendresse - Begin - Dandenault Defence: Markov - Gorges Hamrlik - O'Byrne Bouillon - Brisebois Goaltender: Price Halak Really not impressed with line #2. My choice would be: Tanguay - Koivu - A. Kostitsyn Latendresse - Lang - Kovalev Higgins - Plekanec - S. Kostitsyn (or switching A Kostitsyn with Lats if necessary)

Everyone's talking about the PP, yes I agree, but there are other elements that need to be addressed 1st. They have to start winning the battles along the boards, winning face off and for Bob's sake shoot the puck! If we don't win the face off when on the PP, how can we expect to score when we're skating back to our end to retrieve the puck!?! Win the battles, win face offs, short heads up passes and the rest should follow. Also, Ward is a strong goalie, clear shots from the point won't find the back of the net. We need to challenge him, get in front of him, distract him and then cash in on the rebounds.

I think tonite we'll play for 25 minutes instead of our usual 10-15. Baby steps at a time! Seriously though, the schedule from here on in is quite busy which will help us get into a groove. 2 goals for Koivu, 1 for Tanguay and 1 for A. Kostitsyn. Staal and Wallin for Crapolina. well its busy for the next 2 weeks before it cools off abit
