GreekHockeyCoach
Should this warrant its own thread? After all, it is just a rumour from Eklund. It's getting some discussion so we'll leave it open for the time being. Question. Has any announcement actually been confirmed? Not that I know of but there has been talk about Ronald McDonald for The King from Burger King
Innis_Mor
My (great, great) hope for the announcement: "Coach Carbonneau has decided to abandon his (new for 2008-09) Atom House League breakout". (Wild euphoria ensues amongst Hab fans, and players... )
RicochetII
Roy's jersey is retired on Saturday against the Bruins. There is no way Gainey is going to make any announcement, unless it is about adding Roy to the organization, just prior to that night. I doubt we will see Roy with the Habs, but I wouldn't discount the possibility a year or more down the road. There has been enough controversy involving Roy, he isn't going to risk further problems by stealing any thunder this week.

HabsFanInCalgary
Naw. They are going to ask us fans to stop stuffing the All-Star ballot box. It's amazing how many people are so upset that the Habs are first all around. No one saying a word about Detroit leading the way in the West though. Thats because you can make legit cases for players such as Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Hossa and Lidstrom to be all-stars where as asids from Markov and maybe Price the rest aren't really legit all-stars. I completely understand that but why give us the option to vote more than once if you don't want us too? I'm not saying all the Habs deserve to be there, but I vote once a day for all the Habs and add the Wings in the west. Nobody said a word when Crosby got 400 thou last year and the guy is lock regardless of how he plays. Weather by fan voting, coaches decision or Bettman saying so, Crosby will be there. Would be the same in the West w/ the 4 main guys on the Wings.
flames4eva
Maybe the announcement is to delay the Roy sweater retirement... there has been a little controversy over the fact that this is Grey Cup weekend and the Habs have been accused by some in the media for not respecting the CFL's thunder. I really doubt it. Although I think it is a silly concept (CFL weekend usually involves a large number of festivities), I can't see them changing things at this point, there's likely too much planning that has gone into the Roy event to consider changing the date. I got mine from the box office (had to wait 11 hours in line in 2 days). I've a friend who bought a pair of blue level tickets for $

fourtrax
I will trade you my Hamburglar for your Grimace. Why are we giving up on Hamburglar so quickly? He had a breakout season last year, setting career highs in SB (stolen burgers) and HDTHC (hospitalization due to high cholesterol). We are going to regret this trade. Grimace is on the downside of his career.
HABFANDOG
take ronald, throw in both grimace & the hamburglar for begin. put ronald grimace & burglar on the ir for being too overweight(saves the $5.99 combo on the ol cap hit) & we just saved just over 1 mil in cap space. i'll take that!! Grimace is on the downside of his career. Unfortunately, the only breakout the Hamburglar had was acne related. Grimace would be a horrible pick up, he isn't mean enough and he hasn't exactly kept on top of his physical training.
