roy_133
Sources tell TSN the Carolina Hurricanes have fired head coach Peter Laviolette and in a unique about face, have replaced him with former Hurricanes head coach Paul Maurice. This move comes amid weeks of speculation of change in Carolina and the teams' battle with consistency with Laviolette at the helm. Laviolette, last month, surpassed John Tortorella to become the winningest American born coach in NHL history with his 240th victory. Laviolette was hired by the Hurricanes in December of 2003 after Maurice was fired just 30 games in to the season. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=258260&...s=topStory_main
Randy15
Fantastic. I think he is a buffoon and a goon of a coach. I hope he ends up in the AHL.

tony1234
I have hated this guy since his playing days !!!! So I would not be fair in saying anything. But I saw a little segment on him and some of his charity work. He does have a big heart, and in the end, that is what matters most.
Johnny_rudeboy
Given the rash of injuries to key players this season I do not see how the team's woes can be placed on Laviolette's shoulders. Now their #1 goalie Cam Ward is injured. If the owners think that Paul Maurice will do any better they should look at his record in Toronto. That's just my two cents worth.
