New Jersey Devils @ Montreal Canadiens

Keys to the game:

  • Disciplined neutral-zone game. The Devils feast on turnovers in transition. Our forwards need to stick close to the D on the breakout, while our defensemen need to make crisp, tape-to-tape passes -- none of this in the skates or out of reach crap. Players like Gionta, Elias, and Parise will make you pay if you are sloppy through the neutral zone.
  • Aggressive forecheck. Jersey's D is easily their Achilles heel, slow and just not very good. With our quick forwards, we should be able to pressure them in their own end and force turnovers along the wall. But hard work is required. I want to see forecheckers skating hard to the puck, winning those individual battles.
  • Special teams. The Devils are near the bottom of the league in both PK and PP efficiency. If we can't get our power play going against the league's 28th-ranked PK, with Brodeur out of the lineup, something is seriously wrong, and Jarvis needs to go back to the drawing board.

thats right weep we have to take it to them and not stand around playing into their hand, 11 goals in 2 games we have to keep that pressure
