Bubbles_TPB
I hate to say this, but I don't see that Habs winning Saturday night because I don't see that Habs putting out a huge effort, the effort required to win this game. Nice game thread by the way.

74Kos-yn-31Price
A few updates as per TSN The Canadians are awaiting word on the condition of captain Saku Koivu who left Thursday's game against the Lightning with a leg injury. He is scheduled for an MRI today but the team may not know the results until tonight or even tomorrow. Ben Maxwell has been called up from Hamilton of the AHL to take Koivu's spot for Saturday's game against the Capitals. Sergei Kostitsyn will slide in on right wing where injured defenceman Mike Komisarek skated today. Goaltender Carey Price continues to suffer with an illness and went to see a doctor today. Marc Denis is on standby in Hamilton if Price is too sick to play Saturday. Forward Chris Higgins will meet with doctors tomorrow to determine the extent of an upper body injury suffered during Tuesday's win over Calgary. Defenceman Mathieu Dandenault suffered three fractured bones just above his left wrist during the win over the Flames. Doctors have put a steel plate in his arm and he is expected to miss at least six-to-eight weeks. - TSN

SteenIsThaFuture
A 6-foot-7 Web site producer for the Washington Capitals prepared to dress as the team's backup goalie for Friday night's game against the Ottawa Senators because of an injury to Jose Theodore. Brett Leonhardt, who played Division III hockey in college, signed an amateur tryout contract before the game. If he were to actually get on the ice, he would tie the record for tallest goalie ever to play in an NHL game. Theodore suffered a hip flexor injury during the Capitals' morning skate, and Simeon Varlamov was recalled from Hershey, the team's AHL affiliate, to back up starter Brent Johnson. But Hershey happened to be on the road in San Antonio, and Varlamov's plane wasn't expected to land in the Washington area until close to the 7 p.m. game time. So the Capitals received special dispensation from the league to dress three goaltenders. Varlamov was to take Leonhardt's spot on the bench upon arrival. After what happened last time he was in Montreal, its too bad he suffered a sudden "hip injury".

maximus123
Jose Theodore hurt himself at practice this morning so he may not play tomorrow (just heard about his injury on rds who are showing the caps vs ottawa) the alternate goalie for Johnson tonight is a guy named brian leinhard (dont know the spelling) who the guys were saying that he is an employee for the caps website and only took a couple of practice in his career, mike green is playing, might be something more to worry tomorrow hopefully the Habs will make this a win, can't wait to see that Maxwell kid! WindsorHab-10
This team has found ways to lose to sub-500 teams so far this season. I blame the coaching staff for not preparing and demanding 60 minute efforts against every team. I still haven't gotten over losing to Tampa (worst in the nhl & on 9 game losing streak). As for tomorrow, I'll have to wait and see which team will show up. True we have key injuries but we're deep enough, or so they say, to overcome it and win. dandenault gone for 2 months, higgins gone for 6 weeks, saku looks to be gone for a week or so, carey with a bad flu goin through a real rough spat here, like someone said above we will be hard pressed to win this game... we need a big effort by the tanguay lang kovalev line thats for damn sure Guy gonna slide Maxwell in between AK and MD.. hope AKs game doesnt suffer playing with maxwell Injured players will be replaced by healthy ones, so no excuses. HabsAddict74
Actually, the Habs might win on Saturday. They now consider Washington as a 'better team than them' since the Capitals won 3-0 against the Habs , not so long ago. So they might put a little extra effort. Why put guys called up from Hamilton on the 1st line ? Wait, what do you mean by 'Sergei Kostitsyn will slide in on right wing where injured defenceman Mike Komisarek skated today. ' ? Apparently in practice Komisarek was on the 3rd line wing position... Sergei was centering Dags and Andrei... So with Maxwell centering Dags and Andrei, Sergei will move back to his wing... Komisarek was just filling a spare spot in practice and wasn't ever suppose to start a game there... Also I think Komisarek is still alittle ways off from returning, correct me if im wrong... Looks like my early GDT post came back to bite me in the, well you know... Both predicted starting goalies appear to be out this game... I would have made the thread tonight but i didn't think i would have enough time, and I have noticed some fans appreciate early game day threads.
