Montreal playing for its 3rd game in 4 nights meets the lightning in the last game of 2008

Montreal Canadiens

20-9-6 46points and 4th in the conference

AT

Tampa Bay Lightning

10-16-9 29points and 13th in the conference

The lightning are riding high on a 3 game win streak after Victories over the Penguins in Pittsburgh and a 'Home and Home' stand against the panthers where they finally broke into double digits on the win colum (I think bets were on them hitting 10 for OTL first). Meanwhile the Canadiens are playing their 3rd road game in 4 nights. Beating the Penguins 3-2 on saturday and the Panthers 5-2 last night.

Last time these 2 teams met was December 11th, where Montreal underestimated the underachieving Lightning and lost 3-1 at the Bell Centre. Tonight, the Habs probably wont take them lightly and should return the favor.

In goal tonight for Tampa Bay should be Mike Smith (Smitty) who until recently has been the only bright spot on the lightning. Going 8-12-8 with a .922sv% and a 2.47GAA with 2 SOs. The record isnt great, but the Defense in front of him sucks. Paul Ranger takes at least 1 stupid penalty a night. Malik....well he just sucks. Even fans of the team says when he does do something good defensivly, its an accident.

In goal tonight for Montreal should be Halak, since Carey played last night, who is 5-5-1 with a .916sv% and a 2.44 GAA.

Out for Montreal is Higgins, Koivu & Laraque

Marty St Louis "might" be out due to an injury in practice.

GO HABS GO!!!

(sorry for no pics. forgot them at home)

Find out what it means to me

Take it out - on Vinny

Beat the Lightning, Beat the Lightning, Beat the Lightning, Beat the Lightning

Beat the Lightning, Beat the Lightning, Beat the Lightning, Beat the Lightning

(/song)

Both teams are playing pretty well lately....and so I think that favors us. If Tampax was still a terrible team, we would probably have a harder time beating them. (Well, actually, they are still a terrible team. Better not take them too lightly, just to be sure. ;) )
