ColRouleBleu
2 minutes for throwing a clean hit? No, it's the statutory Markov penalty when we play the Laffs, maight as well get it out of the way early yaaa!! thats how you fight!! boullion taking on the bigger guy!! way to go IF Laraque ever plays again and Lucic declines his invitation, we'll just show the kid that clip of Bouillon WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOO! one of the more entertaining games of the season. outstanding effort by the habs and hats off to breezer for three assists and climbing the ranks to fourth all-all time among dmen and halak for proving his detractors wrong two nights in a row what a game! i really wish the refs had let sergei beat grabs down but oh well, i'll settle for a grabs suspension. does anything happen to sergei for getting two ten minute misconducts in one game? man, those zerbras were brutal. i hope someone is keeping the tapes of these games to send to...someone... Yes, he gets fresher legs Saturday

I can't imagine the Head of Officials is going to be too happy with it.
Innis_Mor
Saturday night's game gearing up to be a good one: 2nd place in Eastern Conference (in advance of the All-Star game) on points % may be up for grabs (unless Washington gets two points against Columbus tonight) http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport...icle2114292.ece -- maybe something for Carbo to pin to the board (however, Boudreau was careful not to suggest Hab players didn't deserve to be there -- he's just demonstrating support for his players publicly, so I don't have a problem with it)

Tamara84
Glad to see the Habs play like a team vs the laffs. By also humiliating them bad.
4beforeorr
It's always a good feeling, after handing a loss to the Leafs. But, what i'm feeling good about right now is, that this team is looking like they are coming together(as a team) We can see them having fun, communicating better, playing as a unit, now the goals are coming and the're's alot more smiling faces out on the ice and on the bench. I have'nt seen Lang smile like he has (the last 2 games) since i don't know when. The good thing is, the team is winning while missing some key players. Gives them more healing time if needed, and for sure their confidence is probably at an all time high.

babinator77
Yes, he gets fresher legs Saturday it was worth it. Yeah, that 'interference' call was bizarre. I can't imagine the Head of Officials is going to be too happy with it. markov's interference call was one of many calls the refs made last night. i've never seen so many ten minute misconducts handed out for nothing. the refs seemed to be begging for a street fight more than the grabs. swimmerpuck
Was it my imagination or were the defensive pairings more jumbled last night especially in the second and third? I realize there were powerplays, penalties and shorthanded situations but the pairings seemed out of sync. I started to get the impression that perhaps one of them was injured but nobody went missing........or something like that. I don't know.......it just seemed different. ColRouleBleu
Both Markov and Komisarek played under 20 minutes. Gorges event played on the wing for a couple of shifts. This game was all ours on the scoreboard and was a goonery circus. Why send in your allstars D for 26 minutes when it's clearly not needed
Flying_Lion
from HabsInsideOut.... Grabovski suspended three games posted by Dave Stubbs at 10h52 EST on Jan 9 Ex-Canadien Mikhail Grabovski, now with the Toronto Maple Leafs, has been suspended for three games for abuse of an official after his brain cramp at the end of last night's game. .... Best news I've heard all day since I woke up and got confirmation that last night's game did actually happen as I remembered it ...
Habsology
Here's my take on things: - the young kids are playing great - Kovalev was noticeably slow! - but at least he's scoring.... - Halak, once again, had more shots on him and still came away with the win - I know you may not think so, but he has been stealing games for us people! - our defense looked a little jumbled. There didn't seem to be any smooth play in our own end - I think we need to have tougher guys who can score, not guys who are just tough for fighting only - You notice how we've been winning big ever since we got all those injuries? I have a feeling that the young kids have injected some energy and drive into our team that was severely lacking before. My only fear is that when get all our vets back, that we are going to go back into a familiar malaise...I'll keep my fingers crossed that we don't! ohboy
Easy win for the boys, Toronto had our last meeting more fresh in their heads than playing hockey this game. Wasnt hard for the boys to completely take them out of the game. Will be interesting to watch team Belarus next Olympics wont it?
ohboy
Its really nice to add the points in what seemed like evrything we touched went in.. But that had to be the worst officiated game I have seen in the last 40 years...Where did they find those two...Was there a storm or something? >>>Did they find those two at the local pub?>>> Anyway its nice to win two big games quite easily...one against a top team in the conference and one easy win against a lowly team in the conference>>> Knowing you have a top line sitting on the injured list and your best goalie...it makes a heart warm on a cold winter day. Go Habs I disagree strongly. I thought the officiating was excellent. The only call that was missed/arguable in my eyes was the Interference call, and I dont think anyone expected the Toronto player to actually reach the puck on that play. This game was doomed to be a hellfire before it even began. The only knock I would have on the officiating is that the linesman need to be more aware and steer guys out of 'hot' areas. When you pull a guy out of a scrum, you drag him way out. Dont let them stand there and nip at each other.

adamkennelly
I just hope this team has some muscle in the line-up for the next round. Burke is having a massive influence on the team Leafs- to the point where he has Ron Wilson (anti scraping) dressing and playing Deveaux, May and Mayers - and he'll do it again next time. Weber can go back down, bring Stewart up or even Flinn- he can't be worse than Deveaux..
fourtrax
You don't steal games for your team when you're up 6-1 with less than 2 minutes to go in the third period. Sorry, but Halak has not stolen any of his recent starts. He played better last night, but it wasn't a steal.
