Dnjscott
Rats. Some poor decisions on that 4-on-3, but we are also not getting ANY breaks tonight. We looked lost for most of that second period. Too bad, I wanted to post some more bananas.....but I have to leave early (got a gig tonight). Someone take over the bananas because we will need a few more posted tonight to pull this one out. p.s. Halak is very good tonight. Our only goal was shorthanded, so the offense is not getting it done.....yet. Still twenty more minutes. We could have another four-goal third period....you never know. Lucky guess? ohboy
Very entertaining game last night. Awesome to see Plekanec, the sniper?, getting into things. Our goaltending needs to improve. Halak was solid for two periods and then, well you all saw it. The excuses can come and go for him but realistically he has let in 3+ goals in the past 4 games. Dutch
Close and exiting game with a good ending Caps are one of the better teams in the league right now, great to see our guys win this one.
swimmerpuck
Way to go Habs! Now see if Washington goes into a little slide after having 40 shots against Columbus only to be shutout and then scoring 4 last night only to lose in the last seconds. I was concerned about Ovechkin with his "leave the feet, boarding" hits but didn't see much out of him in that department. Way to go, Sergei..............that was fun to watch. koreysecord1992
A big 3rd allowed us to pull a win out of this win. Happy to see both Kostitsyn's continue their recent production. It's gotten Andrei right up to a pace to almost match last years numbers.
Innis_Mor
Winning without some key players is simply awesome. I wonder how many teams out there can win consistently with the likes of Koivu, Tanguay, Price and not to mention role players like BGL & Dandenault out of the lineup. Looking forward to Big Ugly Bruins on Tuesday. ... and Higgins.
Innis_Mor
I was concerned about Ovechkin with his "leave the feet, boarding" hits but didn't see much out of him in that department.Boy, I just have a lot of respect of Ovechkin. He just loves to play the game. See when Komisarek checked him into the net right over Halak? (a clean check, as the puck was in everyone's feet in the crease, so everyone was fair game). Some 'stars" (no names) would have been all in a huff getting back up looking for a penalty or retribution. But Ovechkin starts getting up and pats Halak on the rear like "good save" or "you OK?". Most stars are "too focused" to do such a thing, or "don't want to look like freinds with the enemy" Ovechkin plays with passion -- loves the game, loves to score, loves to hit, loves to win. Best, most admirable player in the NHL, IMHO. well let's look at injuries: Koivu - never hurts the team to have him back, only makes them better, so no worry here Higgins - a bit of on/off....sometimes i think we should use him as trade bait for a puck moving D-man Tanguay - won't be back for a while now, but he'll glue with Koivu easily Laraque - doesn't play every game, and him/begin can rotate, or someone like that Dandenault - can switch around with Breezer, I guess and obviously Price, who like Koivu, will only better the team. Price has been the most missed, in my mind. Then Koivu. BGL? Well, he doesn't fight even well he dresses, so no loss there whatsoever.
keithman
^Agreed...I'm thoroughly disappointed in BGL....when he comes back, he better come back with some energy else....well, If I was Gainey, I'd see what other options there are with him. But that leaving the feet thing is bothersome to me, especially since it's illegal.........or at least I thought it was. He did whine a little after a Hab got a two for one deal drilling Ovechkin into one of his teammates behind the net. But without a doubt.........I'd welcome more players on the ice like Ovechkin. He's worth the price of admission.

Looking forward to Big Ugly Bruins on Tuesday. Man,have been impressed with our habs, with the wins coming our way as of late, not to mention the injuries that we had to work around. The young talent that have been called up have been filling the void, they seem to fit right in . The power play has started to click Also, can't wait to see how we do when we match up against the big bad bruins, i want that win badly. Good game last night, habs are on a roll. LeafHater
Hat-trick time lol don't worry i did the same, cept in my living room lol. buuuttt i'm glad i did the reverse for the late goal lol. Since the beginning of the game just seemed one of those games were it would be tied i said "i bet the caps are gonna get one of those crap goals with 15 seconds to go. it better not be" but instead it was sergei who did it! YAY. can't wait for tuesdays game
LeafHater
I hope that punk Grabumski watched this game. better yet, i hope sergei scores some more in the next game then writes to him asking what he's been doing lately lol can't wait for tuesday. asnd i say Koivu will be playing most likely with dags and then whoever carbo decides tyo keep on the line (or dags might be sitting and some other combo and that eventually tanguay and maybe higgins will be joinging koivu and it'll all depend on how the line is goign. dandenault will prob be our 7th D and prob switch around with brisebois and then we'll see for the rest. I'm assuming if it works better with koivu/tangs/higs dags and chips will eventually return o hamilton. For now though i think Pacioretty works well with kovy and pleks. and i think most of us like the lang and the brothers line so far and none of us would touch the lapierre line. Then Sergei & Grabumski fight and Sergei just pounds him Not enough to seriously injure him and get suspended but just enough that he learns a lesson! BarbraT
It's nice to see us scoring....because with Halak in net, we sure have needed it... He's getting the job done I guess...but the offense is clicking and a couple more PP goals...nice!
