He's probably gaining more confidence ,by beating the teams that maybe we thought he would have not.

Until he faulters,keep him in.Go Halak,GO HABS GOOOOOOO. :D

Halak's looking not to bad there,so far. :D

Made some key saves there.

I dont understand the closed hand penalty the guy on CBC was talking about, players always grab the puck out of the air and play it to themselves so they have to close their hand on it then- but they never call that?

as long as you either just bat it down or drop it IMMEDIATELY. he held on for like over a second and then decided to throw it out over the glass. still though, I'm not sure if that would constitute a 4 minute penalty. *shrugs*

I'm in the same boat. I think it must have something to do with how long you hold on to the puck and/or how to play the puck with your hand. Typically a player will catch the puck and drop it within a few feet of themself which I suppose is possible without 'holding the puck' but you can;t very well throw a puck without holding onto it or 'gloving it.

This is just an assumption though because this is just another penalty surrounded by a grey area.

Yes, but in this case had he flipped it or batted/swat it away, I think that that would have been ok...he closed his hand, caught it, then biffed it over the glass. The instances that you describe, I see, like you, many, many times over whereas the officials use their discretion and give them leeway in that regard.

Pretty entertaining period. We had some good chances and fanned a lot. The puck seems like it's bouncing a bit against us. On the other hand, whatever we all think of the Caps' offensive power, they are a very solid defensive team, too. We will have to earn our points tonight.

But the boys look a lot more solid than a couple of weeks ago. I like Patches' puckhandling....at times. He and Dags will only get better.

Halak is looking sharp tonight.....good for us.

Well it shouldn't have been a 4 minute penalty. He should have gotten two 2-minute penalties: one for gloving the puck and one for sending the puck over the glass in the defensive zone (delay of game).

It constitutes the letter to the law two-fold - closing the hand on a puck warrants 2 minutes and delay of game - another 2 minutes.

who wants to start placing bets right now that Cherry will complain about Bouillon fighting with his visor against Brad May?

whatever he says it will always be biased towards boston and toronto...I dont watch because I believe what he says, I watch for pure entertainment. He is a funny guy when he gets all worked up.I've always expected that hes had at least a little to drink before each coaches corner.

actually, not... how can it be 'Delay of Game' when the play is already being stopped for the 'Closing Hand on the Puck' penalty?
