This is horrible. We look like we don't know what to do. But the New Jersey players always look dangerous advancing the puck. This is an omen....I'll bet this game ends 3-0 or 4-1 with the Habs hardly generating any offense. Hockey isn't very much fun to watch when it's played this poorly....

Agreed, they look like a bunch or road hockey kids playing an NHL team.

I dont agree with some people that say Habs are as "lazy" and "passionless" like last night. This is NJ that is the very definition of discipline in the league, a much better start by the Canadiens then last night. Not good enough but I can see this game be much better then the one against Atlanta. Yes the habs looks out of place sometimes but again this isnt a "pushover team" they play tonight by a long way.

I'm going to disagree. I don't think the habs are playing incredibly but they have had some very good scoring chances so far. They really should have scored on at least one of them but none the less I think they are playing pretty well against the Devils who are notorious for owning the habs.

we need a goal.

I say this not to state the obvious, that we're down a goal.

I say it because we're down a goal to New Jersey.

Nothing is more boring than watching the Devils play their defensive game.

GO HABS GO!

With the exception of that Pleks-to-Kovy rush, we have not threatened at all....yet the Devils are inches away from being up three or more. And I don't see anything that tells me it will be any different as the game goes on. We're constantly giving up the puck and the zone way too easily. As long as we do that, any team can "own" us.

I think you need to take off those bleak and bleary glasses you have on. "Inches away from being up three or more"? What? The breakway goal was the only genuine scoring opportunity the devils had that period. Meanwhile the habs had at least 3 good chances on their PP combined with the Sergei getting stoned by Clemmensen while he was splayed out on the ice and Kostopolous fanning on a perfect set up in front of the net among others. We're being outshot but we definitely out-chanced the devils that period. Don't get me wrong, I expect a loss because we are playing the devils but by no means are the habs playing as poorly as a number of you think.
