ColRouleBleu
Higgins, Hammer, Pleks, Sergei, Andrei, Gorges, take your pick. veterans? andrei is balding but he's not exactly a seasoned old fart
GreekHockeyCoach
You can't really bench Hamerlik. The defense is to thing. You could bench Pleks, but hes not really a vet at this point. Sergei and Andrei K are nowhere near being vets. Georges can't really be sat either (see Hamerlik). I believe all the palyers you mentioned need to pick up their games, but I don't consider most of them vets. I consider them works in progress. veterans? andrei is balding but he's not exactly a seasoned old fart My apologies, I retract the word veterans and replace it with the word regulars. If there way any form of advantage it would be defensively/goaltending, I would make a rough estimate based on numbers I've seen before maybe we get an extra .10 goals against per game less, an extreme would be .15, nothing very significant, but there is an effect there nevertheless. Kubby31
We can all see what he's trying to do. I just don't feel that he's going about it the right way. He needs to start benching the players that are not performing, no matter who they are or how long they've been in the league. Carbo has been babying his veterans all year and it's time to put a stop to that. Much agree
fourtrax
I can see what he is trying to do. He wants a Kostopolus type player on each line. A guy who is defensively responcible and will go into the corners and dig for pucks. Perhaps it's best for the team to get back to basics. It's never worked in the past, don't see why it would work now. All it does is ensure that none of our lines will be able to finish at the net. jayjay12345672002
Time to put a string of wins together... Gainey needs to be in a position of strength to pull off the "the trade". What he has to offer isn't exactly causing the phone to ring off the hook these days. The window is officially "open" now and I predict something will come down very soon after we win the 3rd of 3-in-a-row.
RicochetII
It's never worked in the past, don't see why it would work now. All it does is ensure that none of our lines will be able to finish at the net. All too accurate. I would love to have a hard working guy on each scoring line. I'd just prefer it to be someone with offensive prowess. The only hard working player that is showing any offensive spark is Lapierre. So I'm okay with him getting offensive duty. The only offensive player that works hard is Markov, really. Some players are productive some of the time and some players work hard some of the time, but it is rare that we have one or more players doing both simultaneously and/or consistently. I'm hoping this game becomes a pivot for a sprint to the playoffs, but my hopes aren't particularly high right now. We have had more than half a season to ice a full lineup, settle lines, employ an effective system and bring a good effort on a consistent basis. We still have Tanguay and Dandenault out, but if the absence of those two players is the excuse, then we are in bad shape with or without them. If we don't show something promising this weekend, I'll be crossing my fingers for a big change to be made. I don't want to wait until we find ourselves on the brink of the playoffs, I'd rather be proactive in defending our current position. Go Habs Go! habby67
No one is disagreeing with that, bench the players that don't work. Bench all your superstars and just play the grinders. It's a much better message than to just create insane lines like this. Its a juggling act every game with Carbo it seems. I am convinced he should either quit and go work with David Copperfield lol..... Not that it matters if the team blows out their opposition but every once in a while I wouldnt mind seeing them dominate a game from start to finish. Its seems they have only played a full 60 a few times this season but for the most part all I remember is them squeaking out wins, losing leads late or trailing and quitting after the 2nd.... swimmerpuck
I get the distinct feeling today's game is going to be extremely interesting on different levels.......... 1. Fan Reaction to the Florida Vacationers 2. Result of the Ringling Bros Circus Line Juggling and Defense Pairing Act 3. Player Reaction(s) to the Looming Boo Birds 4. Carey Price's Performance (and I don't mean because I think he should be blamed. I'm anxious to see him play after blowing a gasket and I'm glad someone did) I'm anxious to see how it pans out........well at least I hope I will be. adamkennelly
I'm excited to see that LA team frankly - also curious to see how our fans react. If we do not get off to a strong start its going to be a long night..should be fun to watch. why is Stewart not up with the big team? This pillow soft line-up is such a joke...LA is probably laughing at having to come into our building and play vs. this squad. ohh no..here come Kosto and Begin to grab me, take 2 in the face and then fall. sad. teststory
top 3 point getters ya lol, none in the top 50.... they are lethal Yeah we can go from having 2 or 3 goals per game to having 0-1 goals per game. Notice you don't have Koivu in there either, but I see your big poster of him below your sig. I don't think hes played any better then Lang, Kovy, or Markov the last two games. I don't think any of them have played that badly though.
